  • My son's favorite movie is Labyrinth.

Just before Christmas I heard that Christmas song with David Bowie on the radio and said, "Hey Khan! Listen!"

Khan (eyes wide): 'The Goblin King is singing!'

    • Finally yanking the engine out of this old dump truck I bought, and will attempt to rebuild it. 391FT motor is huge, but looks relatively small sitting in the cavernous engine compartment of the 1977 Ford F800.

      • Waiting for a bus in the cold and wind isn't so bad when there's a dude in the apartment across the street walking around shirtless in front of his uncurtained windows

It's wonderful that they've put heaters in the bus shelters, but isn't a waste of energy to have them cranked up so high?

          • Don't ever take down your curtains to wash them. Because you'll then notice how dusty the top of the sill and the blinds and the rods are and then you start wondering about the tops of the door frames and the other windows and after that it's just a really dirty downward spiral into an hour of dusting stuff no one sees.

I don't which is funnier - your comment or the idea that the bus company here might ever actually put real heaters in the bus shelters...

              • So here's the thing about that movie "Elysuim" (spoilers!): at the end, they send the medical shuttles to Earth with the magical healing machines that can heal any wound or illness and thus extend human life far beyond its natural span, right?

The same Earth that is staggering under the burden of massive overpopulation.

And Neill Blonkamp did not see a problem with this plot point?

I recall that being one of the "WTFs" about movies that I read on Cracked recently (can't recall the name of the article).

Ha! That would last about three minutes here! The paint wouldn't be dry before someone vandalized it.

                      Looks cool, though.

                      • Today at work this guy was buying "Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said" by Philip K. Dick.

Me: "This is my favorite Dick book!"

Customer: "Oh, you like Dick too?"

                        Me: "Yeah!"

...it wasn't until later that I realized.
