Recovery Updates:

This is for Plaidman and his proxy's. Hopefully its ok with all involved (proxys and plaid) that this was posted a bit early. If not I will please ask to have it removed as I just want to keep people informed.

From what I do know today (wednesday 9/15/10) was blood work and MRI and surgery prep and Thursday is the official day.
Check in at 5:30am and it begins at 7am.

I'll do one.

My surgeon is very cute and smart. Nice smile. Made me laugh a little, but at same time told me of the risks.

This isn't just a simple total hip replacement, that tumor was the main cause of concern. No-one told me it was near a major nerve for the side of my leg. In anycase, she feels she can get it removed without a problem.

There are some risks of course, but I rather not make anyone afraid of the worst, mom is already worried sick. (Some different ones just because of that fucking tumor).

In anycase, it's going to be 4 hours at the least, to six horus if something goes wrong.

I'll be in the hospital 2-4 days she feels, though it may be longer if I'm healing slower.

My MRI doctor was an complete idiot, and when he was trying to inject me with dye, he couldn't find a vein and poked me in four different spots before he found one. (My aunt who works there, said that after the second try they are to get someone that can find it). Then he wouldn't make a copy of my MRI for my doctor, and was just generally a dick. But I managed to get my copy, manged to race across town to get to me other appointments, had to wait a while longer then was expeceted since the surgeon that was meeting me to talk had both a meeting that went over and had a surgery that went over.

In anycase, I'm leaving home at 4:30 am Pacfici. I'll post a final time before then.

Another one, that my aunt pointed out.

Tomorrow is my surgery.

Tomorrow would have been my little cousins tenth birthday had she survived her cancer.
The hospital I'm going to is the same one that took care of her for so many years. So the family is pretty sure I'm going to have my own guardian angel during the surgery. (It's a minor surgery, but family freaks out alot over medical stuff with our history)
