Why? You can always say that you wanted to take some personal time for yourself. There's no limit to how long you are unemployed.

When I got fired from my old job, I put the dates I was employed on it. No reasons to why I left, just employed and when I was unemployed.

See if that helps. If people ask why where you fired, explain your situation.
It worked for me after around 8 months of not having a job either.
Can't say it'll work 100% though. People see FIRED and don't want to hire you.
