This wasn't sucky, just odd. Or desperate.
Today at noon I went jogging. Usually I go at mid-late morning, but dark clouds of possible rain delayed me. Not long after I started, I encountered some old guy who started talking as I approached. Thinking he was on a cellphone, I ignored him. After all, who tries to chat people up as they're running by? But I heard him ask "Are you in good health?" Okay he is talking to me, not that I had any intention of stopping. Then I heard him ask "How's your spiritual health?" Oh I get it, he's a door-to-door preacher. If I didn't have any intention of stopping before, I had even less intent then to stop and hear him out. I just waved as I ran by. He was still talking/preaching even after I had passed him.
Almost the same time, some motorist called out to me "run faster!" as he drove by. Yeah, thanks for the encouragement, I think.
