    • I still vote for Dammit or Littleshit.

My cat's named Fuzzy so you can't use that one. What about Trouble?

She knows he needs a mommy

I saw a video the other day of a dog who was suckling a litter of kittens. The dog owner was fostering them and she took it upon herself to let them nurse. She's never even had puppies.
One of our female cats tried this when we got the boys. She seems well and truly convinced the boys are "forgotten kittens" or something. They were 10 weeks to her 3-4 years when we got em, 3+ years later I still catch one of the two boys trying his level best to nurse from her occasionally and she still grooms him like he's a tiny baby.

          • My cats are Stars and Stripes (my mother's doing...my cousin's kids named him Stripes [she was Mitsy] and they come home on July 3rd so she became Stars).

But I usually call them Little Miss and Boy.

There was a story down here in one of the local "real-life" magazines about that, but it was more local. Basically a kitten had been found on the side of the road, owner picked her up, took her home, put her with their dog. Kitty started suckling on the dog and strangely enough, the dog actually produced milk

He hasn't told us yet. First thought is "Kenai", but that might be a bit pretentious for him. Have to wait and see.
Kenai doesn't sound too bad. Otherwise Furry Brat O'Doom?

I've heard of that happening. I don't know if this one actually did, though. I think there were 6 or 7 kittens.

As to the first, I've heard of it before, but I don't think my calico is...she's spayed which I *thought* also stopped the hormones that would make that possible. She just likes the idea of having a baby to spoil and Inky can't give up being shined up and loved on.

                    As to the second...

                      • Yay for kitty with a home!

Mine owns seventy percent of the living room, three rugs in two bathrooms, one bedroom, a window and five feet of my room. Right now he's trying to own half of my bed as well. Aren't cats so precious?
Eh, one day I'll have something useful here. Until then, have a cookie or two.

                        • Okay, I'm not happy with the names so far. None of them seem to fit. The closest one was "Squeak", but the SO nixed that. Then came to mind the Emperor's New Groove. "You owe me a new acorn" "Squeak squeak squeak squeaken!". So, I asked "Hey You!" if his name was Acorn. I have never seen any animal respond like that. He stopped, looked at me, ears flat back, and had the look on his face of "You're joking, right? You must be joking. No human could be so stupid. You are joking."

So, no name for him yet. Still working on it.
