  • Help, the washer is broken!

Our washing machine won't fill with water. The spin cycle works, and if you try to start a load, you can hear the motor humming, but no water. We undid the hoses and cleaned them out, but it didn't do any good.

Probably the solenoid that lets the water in. Try it on a different temperature setting (e.g. warm or hot if it is set to cold) and see what happens.

Actually that's the first thing we tried. Mom's now using a bucket to dump water in so we can run some loads I guess it's better than going to the laundromat, but still.

But on the bright side, you could have the opposite problem. One of the supervisors in my department has a washing machine that won't shut off when it's filling. Hopefully I don't have that problem with mine - we already flooded my dining room when we had to change the supply valves last year. At least the floor got cleaned.
That is so full of suck Dyson doesn't know how they did it - shankyknitter

I'm assuming that you checked that the valves to the washing machine are actually turned on.............

Yes, everything is turned on. It was working just fine last night. Then today when I'm off and had planned on catching up on my laundry, boom. No worky At least we can makeshift it though, until Dad gets home. He thinks it some kind of pump that's broken.
