No turkey coma for me this year actually (and it's actually more of a food coma that turkey in particular. Just have to point that out). My family is (most likely at this point) on their way back from visiting a family friend in Saskatchewan (holy crap I spelled that right!) And I enjoyed the peace and quiet that I had in the house this weekend.
Thank you - and a Happy Turkey Day to my fellow Canucks. My family officially "celebrated" on Saturday as that's when my brother and my niece/nephew were able to come visit. Have a wonderful day!
The large print giveth, and the small print taketh away.
Full family Dinner was yesterday. Leftovers were today. And I have to say, spending that much time with kids who love me that much fills me with the greatest sense of...
how should i put this...
DREAD!
There are 9 of them between the ages of 3 and 9 who want nothing more than to smother me with hugs. And they do smother me. They beg for stories, and attention, and piggyback rides. One ruined my coat, and my back hurts. The 8 year old still asks for piggy backs and refuses to accept that she is too old now. It's a wonderful thing to feel all that love and affection coming at you. But when they start dragging you in six different directions, and climbing all over you- It gets a little tiring.
Almost makes me not want to become a teacher.
Oh well, I'm done with it all until Christmas. At least at Halloween I only have to see them 2 at a time. *sighs*
Oh right! Happy Turkey Day!
