Okay, that may not be exactly true, but something is going on around here.
What it is, ain't exactly clear.
For the past few months, I've often encountered a strong smell of cigarettes. This isn't unusual, given the rate of smoking in this country. But sometimes it happens when nobody is around me - I mean, when nobody is even to be seen in the street. Granted, it could be coming from someone's window. I can't discount that possibility. But it seems that it isn't coming from any source in the vicinity.
My father, who died almost three years ago, smoked like the proverbial chimney. I hadn't seen or spoken to him for many a year before his death. So, we weren't close in any way. But since he was such a heavy smoker, and I can't pinpoint the source of the smoke, I wonder if he's trying to tell me something, and if so, what it could be.
Today, I was in the bedroom, getting ready to go out, when I smelled smoke again. But this time, it was more of an odor that a person gives off, when that person smokes. It wasn't like the stench coming off a burning cigarette. It had the smell of clothing enmeshed in it. And the smoke smell was more like a hand-rolled cigarette, or a cigar, neither of which my father smoked.
I asked if someone was there, and wanted to say something to me. Nothing.
What could be happening?
