what's your least favorite candy?

I have a sweet tooth, so there aren't a lot of candies I don't like. I guess I would have to say that I hate any candies that are really sour, like sour gummies and worms.

The Haters:
Black licorice, Mary Janes(why are they still around!?!?), watermelon flavored, banana flavored anything, chocolate flavored hard candy-it's too weird to be anything. It's unnatural. You DON'T mess with chocolate!!!!

My Finnish brother in law is always trying to find a black licorice I will like. Evidently, eating black licorice is a national pastime over there. He showed up with a box of salted licorice once. Yeah. Not sweet. Salty black licorice. The logic was that I like salt.

I do. Can't fault him there. I tried it.

I found another candy I don't like....those little Whoppers or whatever they are called....they come in a tube shaped wrapper and they are little round chocolates and something else. Eck.

Malted milk balls. I personally love 'em, but not everyone does.

Not a huge fan of those. Don't hate them, don't like them.

Went into the Publick House one night and ate one thinking it was an olive.
When you think you are biting into an olive, you do not want to end up eating a malted ball.

Friend of mine (who happens to be a supertaster with a salt aversion...you can probably see where this is going) did the same thing a week later with what she thought was the usual bowl of malted balls.

It was, in fact, an olive.

I love chocolate covered cherries.

Oh, me too! One of the good things about Christmas is I can supply myself with Queen Anne cordial cherries from now until Valentines Day.

New at the swamp this year are cordial blueberries. I'll have to give those a try.

White Chocolate is Cocoa Butter, Milk Solids, Milk Fat, and Sugar.

Milk Chocolate is Cocoa Butter, Cocoa solids, milk powder or condensed milk, and sugar.

Dark Chocolate the same as milk chocolate minus the milk and with a greater proportion of cocoa solids.

So white chocolate doesn't taste like chocolate because it is fundamentally different and therefore isn't supposed to taste like "regular" chocolate.

Not that there's anything wrong with not liking white chocolate. I know plenty of people who don't. And that's the whole point of this thread, right? Candy you DON'T like?

When I was......7 or 8.....I got my hands on a big box of Whoppers and ate the whole damn thing in a short period of time, literally making myself sick.

Yes, I got in trouble for that, but ever since then I have been unable to stomach anything malted milk flavored AT ALL. Just the smell makes me feel ill.

Years later, my father and I were at a local ice cream stand and both ordered frappes. He got chocolate malt and I got regular chocolate. And they mis-marked them so I ended up with the malted one. I nearly gagged on it.

Oh, and I haven't really had them, but I can't imagine I would like pretzel M&Ms. I don't like Hershey's Take 5 with the pretzels in them, for instance.

On the other hand, I wasn't expecting to like coconut M&Ms and I did.

My dad loves 'em. I like them, every once in a while I'll get the urge to buy a box, but there's only so many I can eat before I don't want them anymore. Then I'll go months before I want them again.

Those be the ones! I just finished my first box of the season! (Yeah, they don't last long around me.) Didn't see blueberries. I'll have to keep an eye out for that. When I was in college I was at the mall when we passed the Godiva store; they had samples of fresh berries drizzled with chocolate. I took a blueberry one...yummmmmmy!

^Oooh, I LOVE cordial cherries! I like eating them really slowly and slurping the cherry out. Although they're definitely a "can't just sit down and gorge" treat, it gets too sweet to me. [Which is hard to do, I have the Killer Sweet Tooth of Doom.]

Candy Corn...maybe those are classified more as wax though. Hehe. Seriously blegh. Use to love circus peanuts, now can't really even stand the site of them. Also, if candy is not chocolate and black .. I tend to leave it well enough alone.

I like malted milk balls, especially when mixed into chocolate ice cream.

White chocolate...depends on the manufacturer. Some of it is very tasty (Lindt White Chocolate truffles, mmm!) some of it tastes like cheap cake frosting. Given the choice though, I prefer milk chocolate or a good quality dark chocolate to white chocolate.

Cordial cherries...yum. Also like chocolate covered dried fruit (including cherries). Again, depends on the manufacturer, some use better quality ingredients than others, and it makes a ton of difference.
