Mary Jane kisses is the halloween version of the fruitcake.
And as I recall a former DM of ours comment on fruitcake:

Nothing says "I hate you" like giving them a fruitcake.

Depends on the fruitcake. I have had one from my mothers exes gramma that was very good. It was light and sweet and oh so tasty. It didn't hurt that she used aged rum for extra flavoring. Plus she spritzed rum on it before giving it to us. I think I ate half myself.

I cannot stand the taste or smell of licorice...I don't mean like Twizzlers, but stuff like Good and Plenty or regular black licorice. And I hate coconut, but I think that's more of a texture issue than taste. The margin there is slim, though.

I also hate anything banana-flavored; I like regular raw bananas, but stuff like banana-flavored taffy? Nope. And believe it or not, I'm not a fan of jelly beans. To be honest, I don't like eating anything gummy that's really sticky because I hate that my jaws stick together after I eat it. I do, however, like Brite Crawlers and Gummy Bears. Yeah, I don't get it either.

And I don't like gum for one reason only: the sugar in it makes my entire mouth ache something awful. It feels like Icy-Hot is pumped into each tooth when that sugar hits my teeth...and gum is the only thing that causes it. Otherwise, I love blowing bubbles so big that I have to peel the gum off my forehead.

I'm going to have to agree with this. Fruitcakes can be actually quite good. And then there's also *sings* Paaaaaaaaaanettoooooone, which is Heaven in bread form.

Wow, there sure is a lot of hatred towards candy corn!

I find this amusing, as it is one of the things in this world that I WILL eat until I am sick. I LOVE candy corns. LOVE!

Other things that I will eat until sick are caramel, caramel ice cream, Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies (seriously, these are the only REAL Girl Scout cookies...the others are merely pretenders to the throne!), Rolos, and most fudge, but especially vanilla fudge. And probably white chocolate as well. I LOVE white chocolate.

            As for candy I hate?

            Mary Janes. Blech.
            Butterfingers. Disgusting.
Reese's Pieces. This is a weird one, because I like peanut butter, and I like chocolate, and I even sometimes like them together. Hell, I love Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. But the Pieces just gross me out.
            Whoppers. Foul, foul, foul.

While I like Mounds, I don't care for Almond Joy. While they are essentially the same candy, I don't care for almonds, or really any nuts other than peanuts, cashews, pistachios, and in some instances, macadamias.

And it was at this point that all these factors came together and my friend, as he put it, "tasted the rainbow." All the booze and all the bags of Skittles he'd eaten came up in his lap.

And that is why I no longer eat Skittles.
Okay, I could see why this would cause HIM not to eat Skittles anymore. But you weren't there....why would the mere story affect you to that level? I don't get it.

White chocolate does have the cocoa butter aspect, but it lacks the cocoa solids that other forms of chocolate have. I'm not much a fan of the stuff either. It's too sweet for me. I much prefer a nice piece of extremely dark chocolate.
Sounds like the difference between my mother and myself. She loves dark chocolate, which I think is okay, while I love white chocolate, which she thinks is okay. This dichotomy is oddly reflected in our jelly bean preferences....she loves black jelly beans, as a kid I would trade away all colors of jelly beans for more white ones. (I am strictly talking about the normal old-fashioned type jelly beans that we simply identified by color, not the funky gourmet flavored jelly beans. Which are fine too, just making a distinction here.)

But it's not specifically "Christmas" candy (the box is red but not otherwise holiday-themed) so I can buy them in November.
Even if it was Christmas-themed, you could still buy it in November, since they sell Christmas stuff as early as September these days!

When you think you are biting into an olive, you do not want to end up eating a malted ball.
I did something similar once. Was at a restaurant with a friend of mine, and they had a bowl of grapes on each table. So I popped one in my mouth.

Turns out the "grapes" were actually red olives. I loathe olives. They are right at the top of my list for foods I can't stand.

            Yeah, that was fun.

On the other hand, I wasn't expecting to like coconut M&Ms and I did.
Wait, what? They have coconut M&M's? When did this happen?!?!?!?

            Aren't Mary Janes a shoe?

So Mary Jane Kisses ==>> kicked in the teeth?
Based on the taste of the things, that is pretty much an apt analogy.

I want candy bonus for reference (Hint: song)
"Candy on the beach, there's nothing better
But I like candy when it's wrapped in a sweater
Some day soon I'll make you mine,
Then I'll have candy all the time

I want candy, I want candy
I want candy, I want candy..."
