I just had to tell my 10 year old son that his Godfather was going to jail on Dec 8th instead of coming with us to Florida and to Harry Potter world....:/ He was fighting back tears and confused.

I hate being a mom sometimes if only because I dont like to see my kids hurt.

that is sad news indeed. That kinda sucks for the Godfather too...i mean, who wants to go to jail?

But isn't being hurt part of life? I mean, at some point your children will deal with losing a loved on or pet. Going off to college without their parents. Having a hard relationship and marriage. It's all apart of life.

You could have told him something worse...like his Godfather wouldn't be going to Harry Potter world, and neither would he...that would have made me melt into nothingness.
