  • Arrrgggh I hate new meds

So I've been battling blood pressure for a while...in July or August I started taking HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE which has lovely side effects like feeling dizzy and just kinda blech. So my body adjusts and I get over that...and now I"m starting a new med ENALAPRIL and I'm going through the same thing again

Ugh and I'm not in a great mood because of it I guess.

    Hugs and hugs. Sorry gal.

I hate meds too, despite studying them. They put me on a new batch every freaking other month since the other ether doesn't work or make me far worst.

If you have a way to check your blood pressure at home, please do so... Just to be sure the dizziness you feel isn't from low blood pressure.

Friendly PSA from the board nurse. :P LOL

Take care, good luck with the enalapril.

Hey! I know what those drugs do!!
          *feels smart for 5 seconds*
(I had an exam on them today)

I hope the side effects are temporary and you're feeling better again soon.

You have my deepest sympathy, I spent about 6 months getting my BP meds tweaked properly ... and of the 5 that I take, all of them have drowsiness as a side effect. I went from sleeping 20 hours a day to now they just crash me out for about an hour after I take them 3x day ... I know that half an hour after I take my meds I will be napping [except for the 9 pm meds, I just go to bed after them ]

Better learn to properly use a real BO cuff and stethoscope, I have found that even the best of the automatic readers [unless you want to lay out the $900 on the spiffy one that doctor's offices have that is on its own rolly stand] is fairly inaccurate. I have an omron that my dad had bought for himself and it regularly is off by up to +/- 5%. I get much more dependable results from the basic cuff that rob has in his jump kit. It really is not hard to learn to read one, just takes a little physical coordination to keep the stetho in the right place =)

The side effects are temporary, and it should get better soon.

              5 of them...3 x a day.... Thank god I'm not doing that!

As for the bp cuff yeah I don't know how to read the usual/analog type....I don't know how to learn it either...

unlike trailerparkmedic I feel DUMB for 5 seconds lol.
