  • Conversations in the Key of Star Wars

My household has been on a Star Wars kick recently. I am reading my first-ever Star Wars novel, and Husband just bought a SW role playing book. We are also seriously discussing when we should introduce Khan to the series.

Conversation 1: About the novel I am reading:

Me: How do you pronounce this name? W-H-I-E.

    Husband: Whee.

Me: Are you sure? I would say Whee-ay. It sounds less lame.

Husband: In Star Wars, I assume everything is meant to be pronounced in the lamest way possible.

    Conversation 2
: Watching Revenge of the Sith:

Me: Anakin's always in Natalie Portman's apartment. I wonder if anyone ever goes to his room at the Jedi Temple and starts to notice he's never there.

Saku-chan: Yeah, Obi-Wan comes by after dinner and he's like, "Anakin! We're going to the club and we are going to get fucked up and score some Twi'lek bitches! You coming? Hey, Anakin? Where are you, man? Oh well, let's go get our drink on".

    Me: BROS BEFORE HOS ANAKIN!

I discovered that it pleases him to think of Obi-Wan as a total frat boy. Weirdly enough, I always kind of thought that too. We really are soul mates.

I currently have a character in a Star Wars RPG. We're playing in an expanded universe setting where Han Solo never left the Imperial Navy. Of the games we have going it's one of my favorites, but one of the players is away at college and asked us to save the game for him. I am sad.

Thanks! I always liked Star Wars but now I'm getting more into it since Husband got me to read this book. I keep asking him questions all the time. He's very patient. That link should take some of the pressure off him...

We decided to force-er, let- Khan watch A New Hope on his 2nd birthday. We have also decided to shelter him from the fact that the new films exist. He will have to face the hard truth sometime, but I am going to keep him innocent as long as possible.

I've been giggling randomly all day at the thought of Obi-Wan Kenobi setting up a beer bong in the Jedi Council room and trying to keep Mace Windu or someone from walking in and finding it. Like National Lampoon's Jedi House! or something.

Was R2-D2 the mixmaster? Judging from the movies, it was the little robot's apparent purpose...that and beeping swiss-army knife.

I used to have a cat that loved to watch Eps 4, 5, & 6. She'd come running when she heard the opening music. I named her Leia.

Lets be honest though. From his track record, I think Obi Wan doesn't really spend a lot of time in bars. Every time he goes in one, someone loses a hand.

Personally my favorite observation of Star Wars is that both male Skywalkers in the movies are whiny little punks who think they are being held back by the people who raised them.

As far as the Jedi Council, I get the most fun out of picturing Yoda in a hoodie and baggy jeans break dancing. He's pretty agile for his age.

Something kind of sad about the way that things have come to be.

There is an Easter Egg in ROTS that has Yoda rapping. Go to the "Options" menu and type in 1-Enter 1-Enter 3-Enter 8-Enter and it will come up.

I've used the Jedi mind trick at work. What can I say, other than that it really does work on some of our interns

Actually a rather good observation. I would have to agree, although I will point out that Sky 2.0 seemed to mature with his tutelage in the Force, whereas the original Skywhiner just seemed to get more annoying, needy, and whiney.

I know I can't be the only one that absolutely flipped when, in "Clones," Yoda broke out the light saber and went to town. "Did you SEE that? Did you SEE that?!?!?!" My friends almost shot me.

                          Yeah huh.

Unless of course you tried it, and that was your reaction. As if the ILM crew didn't have enough actual work to do....
