  • Help a girl out :P

My Kiwi love, is getting his usual holiday box. However, since the last few years, I forgot they don't have Rootbeer, I'm dropping in rootbeer candies..

I want to include some things to make him laugh too, but I'm slowly running out of ideas. He has a good sense of humor, but this time of year he gets down from being screwed over right about now by every other girlfriend (Except me :P)

    So.. ideas?
Cd's, books.. shirts.. if there's a link or you have a way for me to see the stuff, I'd be grateful.

Thinkgeek is out by the way, because it's his card on my account.. so I can't order it.

I never know what to get boys, but I get this awesome catalog What on Earth with all kinds of crazy stuff. One year they had a Crazy Cat Lady action figure, to give you an idea. I suppose you could google it; there's probably a way to order online. They have fantasy/geek goodness in there. I love the T-shirts best; funniest stuff I've seen in a while.

Aw, man. I keep coming up with ideas but they're all for NYC stores and that doesn't help you any. >_< But thinking about local things, could you find something to do in his area (cooking classes or skydiving or whatever he's into) and pay for/reserve it in his name? Put something cool in the box related to it with a note that he should call X number for the rest of his present. Then it'd get him out of the house instead of being home feeling down.

I was just looking at the barware/mugs on The Onion website. They have some funny ones. (I like the Nalgene water bottle that has a little tent on it and says "I will never take this camping." I'm tempted to get it for my dad...who actually does camp on occasion so it amuses me even more. But mostly he uses his water bottles for umpiring.)

            I don't know a single guy that wouldn't appreciate a good multi-tool.

Theres a trader shop near me (in NZ remember :P) that sells A&W Root Beer. Yes visiting the states got me hooked. Darn y'alll. :P

              As for other things....

-firstin.co.nz does 24hr deals, I've gotten a laptop, wireless headphones and rca to usb converters from them, they do heaps of stuff tho. (also 3deals.co.nz, 1-day.co.nz, offtheback.co.nz)

-i have a mind blank (it is 1am, in my defense)

              - realgroovy.co.nz if you want to go Music/dvd's

              - ????

              - profit!

And on a side note, I am adamantly not clicking on Frantic Freddie's link, as I have too many frigging multitools as it is (not that I can ever find them)

Can you give me ideas what he is into?

Just for the heck of it, toss in a Lego kit. I suggest this because I am an Adult Fan of Lego. He might be one too, or might become one.

Does he have all of Butcher's stuff, including "Strange Brew" and "Mean Streets," which actually are anthologies, but have short stories of his in there, and others that are at least mildly entertaining; there's also a roleplaying system/book if he's into rp'ing... I want it for Christmas, but I might ask for it for my birthday, which is in a few months after the Day.

If he doesn't already have them, what about a nice set of knives? You know, like a butcher block set? After all, every cook needs knives.

(No, not every cook needs as many knives as I have, but that's besides the point.)
