  • I need Phoenix advice.

Yes, I know I'm from Phoenix. And yet I need help from those of you that do or have lived there.

Here's the deal: as my parents are getting older, Lil Sis decided that we should gather together in the desert as a family, as we may not have many more opportunities to do this. As Lil Sis lives in the U.K., and it is not always easy or affordable for her to come to the States, this is pretty true.

Since LiL Sis will be paying the most for her airfare, The Witch and I let her pick the basic timetable, as long as it worked for both of us. Lil Sis floated late January, and that seems to work for everyone. Lil Sis booked her flight a few days ago, I booked mine a few minutes ago. The Witch will book hers whenever....as she only lives a two hour flight from Phoenix, she has the easiest travel plans to make.

All three of us are football fans, and while we all root for different teams, we all do enjoy the playoffs. The conference championship weekend will be the same weekend we are all gathered in Phoenix, and the idea of watching the games at a sports bar has been floated. Since we all like beer as well, this makes sense.

My parents live out in the West Valley. I am an East Valley guy. While I will be staying at my friend's in the East Valley most of my stay, my sisters will be staying at my parents the entire time. So the plan is to go to a West Valley sports bar for the games, and crash at the parents' house that night.

And therein lies the problem. I know the East Valley. I even know downtown somewhat. I don't know dick about the West Valley.

My friend Neets and I went to the Yard House before the Raiders-Cardinals game in September, and while they are a great place for beer, they are not the best place for watching football.

So can anyone suggest a cool West Valley sports bar? Preferably with a good selection of beers for beer enthusiasts (i.e., not just Bud/Miller/Coors/Corona/Heineken) and good sightlines for the tv's? The Yard House's big problem is the tv's....great flat screens, but a lot of the seats in the bar are not really positioned well for watching said tv's, probably because there are too few of them.

Help me, Obi Wan West Valley. You're my only hope.

Me being from the North Valley, I know very little of West Valley myself. Though I did look up some West Valley Sports Bars and one that pops up quite a bit is this Padre Murphy's. Which is on Glendale and Bell rd.

    This listed 5 good WV sport's bar's, Padre's included.

    I hope this helps

Thanks. I appreciate that CC. And I was actually going to do some searching on the net as well. Was just hoping for someone with some personal experience, which is always better than something you read on the net.

Ur welcome. I'm not sure if Happy Valley is in the West Valley area but they have a Buffalo Wild Wings. BBW's always has a nice setup to watch sports and they have damn good wings
