  • Well, that was disappointing....

So, Fiance and I decided to go ahead and exchange Christmas/anniversary presents early. I got him a coat and gloves...I felt so bad for him going to work in 15 degree weather without either. He got me Donkey Kong Country Returns. I was so excited! DKC was one of the first games that I sat down and beat by myself...I spent hours upon hours playing it.

Sunday night we sat down with the intention of just playing until we beat it. We quit halfway through the second level. It's awful! It's really hard, the use of the Wiimote feels ridiculous, and you can't freakin' see the characters because they're so tiny. I guess they designed the game with big screen, high-def TV's in mind, so it kinda sucks on my 17 year old fairly small TV.

And I feel bad for Fiance, because now he thinks he bought me a crap present. *sigh*

I finally had to splurge to get a new tv because I just couldn't play my games anymore. So I know how you feel.

That's why I only play Super Nintendo.

Its the shame of gaming these days. Everyone is so obsessed with the biggest and best that no one builds for the older stuff anymore. I tried playing a PS3 game on an old CRT TV, and I had to stop. It was an rpg, and not a single line of text was legible in the smaller resolution.

That does suck. I had heard that game got bad reviews so I stayed away from it while holiday shopping.

              Really?

The vast majority of reviews are pretty glowing, actually.
