Doesn't show any pics, but another reason why Portland is such a nice town. Not often you get to see the original knife from Pyscho Movie, or an Alien suit, or just various costumes/props from movies.

I still want a DeLorean, which I always have done ever since I first saw the first movie. XD I'll settle for just the regular car, tho one with a flux capacitor would be cool.

I'd also say that the slang used by the bad kids is certainly not in regular usage; I don't think I've ever heard someone say another person had no "scrote".

I had no idea that was Elijah Woods!

I've been watching seaQuest recently, and I do giggle at their versionof the future... As far as I know, we have no GELFs... Though Dagwood would be a cool friend to have.

Holy hell, I completely missed that. I had to go back and check it myself. I did catch "Eastwood Ravine" at the end of the third one though.

My wife, who usually catches everything, didn't catch ZZ Top at the town fair, even with the trademark guitar-spin.
A lot of people miss that actually, because it's not referenced very heavily. Just the forgettable sign at the start, Marty running over the tree, and then the new forgettable sign at the end. The ravine in the third movie was a major part of the story though, and the sign was there for a considerably longer amount of time. The first movie reference is "blink and you miss it" while the third one is a "If you miss this reference you are f'ing blind".

As for the ZZ top reference, here's a fun bit of trivia for you, the song that they play in the town fair is the same song that's played in the end credits; "Double Back". Amazing what a difference that different instruments make, huh?

A video store near me, that has tons of movie memoria had a replica of the time machine. It was awesome.

I love the little details in the movies, like in the beginning of the first one, the mall is called twin pine malls, after the 55's crazy farmer who had a notion of breeding pine trees. When Marty goes back and escapes the farm, he runs over a pine much to the anger of the farmer "WHY YOU!!! MY PINE!!!" *Shotgun blasts*

At the end of the movie, the mall is now simply called Lone Pine Mall.
The novelization actually tapped a number of these and was superior for it - in the end, Marty notes the Twin Pines/Lone Pines thing to Doc Brown, who says, "You'll probably notice a lot of little things like that. It'll be your own private joke with Hill Valley."

I thought the book was superior because it was based on an older script, and probably made before any of the casting decisions were finalized. There's more from Doc Brown's point of view and an interesting scene from the point of view of the *Libyan terrorists,* of all people, which sort of opens a window about why they couldn't hit the broadside of a barn and why their equipment was so pathetic. Doc Brown's a lot more interesting when he's not so frantic. If you get a chance to find it, I highly recommend grabbing it. I lost my copy years ago.

The novelizations of the two sequels were written by someone else and weren't NEARLY as good.

                Love, Who?

                  I've always wanted a DeLorean.

As for the slang, I've heard both. Within the last year, even.

Strangely, that's something I caught the first time I saw the movie.

I'd like to get one but I think the best time was in the very late 1990's and early 2000's, prices seemed to have bottomed out then.

                      They are good cars.

My longing for a DeLorean kinda upped when I learned that Ace Frehley had one. XD

I know there were a few others that gave people the ideas from Star Trek and I'm sure other shows / movies have done the same.
Hell, the flip phones that were very popular before smart phones came along (and that a lot of people still have) are so completely based on the Star Trek communicators.

And y'all can't tell me that the iPad is not based on similar type devices in sci-fi movies and shows, unless it's been in development for a LONG time, and the producers of said shows and movies knew that.

In an amusing lack of vision, watched the entirety of "V: The Final Battle" from 1984 last night, and found it hilarious that on the mothership of the aliens, they had earth-style corded phones. And at one point, one of the human resistance actually called one of the alien leaders on said phone. Riiiiight.

I have heard scrote used quite a bit. As for "chicken", with or without sound effects, it was very common when I was a kid (Seventies), far more so than "pussy," at least when I was in grade school. High school, not so sure.
