I had mine removed at age 22. The pain of gallbladder attacks are worse than childbirth. I really feel for you.

I had mine out at 24. My mom, and my only female cousin on my mom's side of the family, also had theirs out, so it's genetic in my family as well. That was pretty shitty of the paramedics to be hounding on you like that, especially during a 911 call. I would definitely tell the hospital...or whoever they work for...are paramedics part of the hospital staff, or are they employed by someone else?

I'm glad you're recovering now. While surgeries aren't fun, gall bladders aren't uncommon so they're close to routine now.

it was the mesa fire department not the paramedics after their lecture they got out of the ambulence and into the fire engine that always accompanys ambulences (cause most of the time they are technicaly third party companys that need a state ffical around to make it all legal)

i am concidering either complaoning to they through offical channels or writing something to the local paper.
It was not cool.

Glad to hear you're out and healing, now.

I'd suggest a complaint directly to the department about it. Their PR people would probably appreciate a heads up before being blindsided should a letter to the paper get printed.

This last year I've started getting what I'm pretty sure are gall stones. All of the signs point to it, but I haven't seen a doctor about it, yet.

Careful, Andara. If you suspect gall stones, you should definitely get it checked out -- as Pepper said, gall bladder attacks can be extremely painful. And if you do have to have yours out, it'd be much better to have a planned surgery than to end up in the ER unexpected one night at 3am to have it out.

Yeah, it's been a couple of years since I had mine out, but I remember "cancer" being among the things my surgeon warned me of if I didn't get mine taken care of quickly. (pretty sure mine had been in bad shape for years and years before I had it out; I didn't know it at the time, but after I had mine out, a lot of little symptoms that I didn't recognize went away, things that I'd been experiencing since high school.)

I have another 10 years before I get my gallbladder out. My Memo (my mom's mom), my mom, and her older brother were all 48 when they got their gallbladders out. Yay!

My brother had his out in '09 and he say that his back pains, which he has been running to chiropractors and physiotherapists for the last fifteen years, has disappeared. He is one of the unfortunates who has problems if he eat too much or too fat after the operation, but he think it's a fair trade.

oh yeah for a month up til the operation i was having a hard time sitting comfortable i thought it was my knitting posture.

now i have alittle pain cause my back spasiumed once or twice but im great.

Considering that my mom has back issues, I should ask her if she's had hers checked.

As for my own, I'm keeping tabs on what my body is up to, but I'm one of those people whose blood pressure goes up just thinking about visiting the doctor, so I don't go nearly as often as I should.
