Currently we have two dogs and a bird.

    Ziggy:
Some friends of ours had beagle puppies. Mr Jedi needed a partner in crime to make some visits, so I tagged along. All the puppies got Parvo when they were really little. When we went on this visit, they had gotten better and I hadn't seen them in awhile. R looked at me with this big grin and asked if I wanted to see puppies. Well, yeah, duh. So she sat a puppy in my lap and I had to take it home. Now she's two-and-a-half and very bossy. She trolls the kitchen looking for crumbs and dropped food. I swear she was a cat in another life. She likes to sit on my feet while I cook and bats her ball around like a cat bats a string. It's quite funny to watch.

    Tag:
Ziggy was driving us nuts with her barking, so we started saving money for a playmate for her. Our humane society frequently has "Name your own fee" specials. So one of those specials came around and we decided to go get Ziggy a friend. We had some rules: no puppies, no hounds, and Ziggy-size. I went back to the kennels to pick a dog to meet Ziggy and then Mr Jedi did the same. He picked Tag. They got along really well, but Mr Jedi failed at reading comprehension. By the time we were told he was a 4-month old hound puppy (and already 40lbs), we were all attached. Tag's been a good dog (mostly); he really doesn't bark too much. But, he's kinda dopey. Smart, but dopey. Now he's a year and a half and 65lbs.

    Oscar:
Growing up my siblings and I didn't have dogs or cats because the parentals are allergic to fur. So we had birds instead. After a rash of bad luck with our birds (lost 3 within a couple months) mom brought home this bird she'd heard whistling at dogs at the pet store. He was, shall we say, not a nice bird. Mama Jedi still has a scar on her thumb from him. I was the one who trained Oscar with copious amounts of treats and became his favorite (only) person in the whole wide world. Before I got married and moved out, my parents made sure Mr Jedi knew "that bird" was part of the deal. Oscar doesn't much like Mr Jedi. I think he's jealous.

ATM, I'm trying to talk Mr Jedi into letting us adopt our neighbor's bird, Lola. Lola's a MUCH friendlier bird than Oscar and I'm hoping she might mellow him out a bit.

My cousin found 4 kittens a few days old on his boat. We kept 2. They live with my parents; technically the girl is mine, but she loves my dad. Also, I can't have pets here.

They are Stars and Stripes (girl and boy, respectively) - they came home on July 3. Stripes was already named Stripes by my cousin's kids, and Stars's name was originally Mitsy. Stripes is a black/brown/white tabby, and Stars is the same pattern in shades of gray with a little cream.

They'll be 5 in May. Stripes is a troublemaker; Stars is the shy one. She spends most of her time on my dad's bed; I think she thinks she's part of the pillow arrangement.

Though I don't have any currently, I've had some .. interesting pets.

Misty - The unluckiest dog in the world (ok maybe not, but it seemed like it). Hit by four cars, went blind, got shot by a neighbor..the last time she got hit by a car she died...

King - Hated adults, with a passion. Would attack any adult that came within reach. Kids..he was as gentle as you could hope for.

Lazy - A cow. Yes..I had a pet cow once. One that refused to stand (thus the name)

Shadow - Black cat, mean as you could get..except to me. All lovey dovey to me, but anybody or anything else would scratch/bite etc. Interestingly enough, Shadow never got very large. Stayed about the size of most kittens, even when full grown.

Blacky - Big black dog that resembled a black haired golden retriever. Was cocky, arrogant, but the sweetest animal of all the ones we had. Would walk in front of us, and if so much as a bug got in our way, he'd go nuts.

Nosey - A small beagle, and Blacky's mother. Good hunting dog.

Sammy - Siamese cat. Ok it was my brothers, but I ended up taking care of it.
Engaged to the amazing Marmalady. She is my Silver Dragon, shining as bright as the sun. I her Black Dragon (though good honestly), dark as night..fierce and strong.

          - Bo Jangles: Lovely, big, friendly Rottweiler that adored going to schutzhund and the beach. Put to sleep, inoperable slipped disc.

          - Marty: A cute little (English) Staffordshire Bull Terrier, very family-orientated that just wanted to cuddle all day long. Put to sleep, cancer.

          - Tipsy: My rescue kitten! Turkish Van markings and love of water. I found her at the dump when she was about a week old. I loved her, she liked to stalk and attack everyone except for me. She thought I was her mummy, always slept with me and followed me everywhere. Disappeared while I was interstate after searching the house top-to-bottom for me, because Dad wasn't quick enough going through the door.

          - Angel: Crossbreed, mainly Rotty and Akita, good stable temperament with a medium/high prey drive. Loved people and dogs and should have been a hunting dog (My mother hated her and had her put down).

          - Danny Crane (Current, Rugz' dog): Goofy, happy, friendly Weimaraner that is too smart for his own good. Brilliant with people, especially scared children. We got him as a puppy for Rugz' birthday because he's wanted one of his own for years. Total sweetheart!

          - Hailie (Current, mine): Cuddly, happy, shy Weimaraner that has an odd habit of 'planting' her biscuits in my garden. She was rather nervous, severely disliked men and was somewhat leash-aggressive when I got her, she's an exshow and brood-bitch. She's much better, she's calm and non-aggressive now. Loves kids, always has and is very gentle with them.

Right now, there are five animals in the house - my three kitties and my mother's two dogs.

Female cat - My little girl, who is probably seven pounds soaking wet, eats like a horse. She will not only eat a lot, but she'll eat anything. Dog food, sauerkraut, stuffing, pierogies...anything. She's not sick - she just loves to eat. She'll finish a whole can of catfood herself and then go upstairs and howl for more food. And she just loves being carried around. She's got me trained to carry her in one arm while I go about my business in the house, and she'll just kind of chill out on my shoulder.

Pretty male cat - I call him this because he's got these huge, gorgeous eyes and looks like he's wearing eyeliner. I found this one in the backyard a few years ago and he just kind of ended up becoming part of the family. This one will purr if I so much as look at him and he loves attention from strangers. He's also got massive canine teeth that come down below his lower lip and he looks kind of like a walrus in a fur coat.

Fat male cat - Female cat's brother, and also her exact opposite in terms of eating habits. My fat boy eats at a normal rate, but he weighs about 20 pounds. The vet didn't say he was a bad weight. This is also my weird cat: he loves to pee on leather and he eats inedible things like cords, twist ties, clothespins, and rubber bands. I don't let him, but sometimes I find him walking around with a rubber band hanging out his ass. He also howls when he thinks he's alone and is the reason the cats have to sleep in the garage at night.

Girl dog - Beautiful white dog my mother found about eight years ago. She didn't care if the dog might have belonged to someone - she just kept it. And the dog has some kind of doggy autism or something, in that she's a little odd in some aspects, but smart in others. For example, she can do tricks like speak, roll over, sit, crawl on her belly, and dance. She understands what "Be quiet" means. And she can be trusted with an open bag of biscuits to not eat the whole bag. But she also barks at rubber bands, snow on low-hanging branches, and mints in crinkly wrappers. So she's a little queer, but is otherwise a very sweet dog.

Boy dog - My mother brought home this little pain in the ass because he's apparently worth a few hundred bucks and her co-worker was giving him away. This dog is a small, yappy one who does shit like eat foil and razors, barks for no reason, and is generally a pain in the ass. And he's the reason my cats are all scared to come upstairs. My poor babies have been too afraid to leave the basement for almost a year. So needless to say, I would love to see this dog run away.

And my mom's got a really short fuse when it comes to barking, so the yapper gets screamed at and smacked with a flyswatter a lot. This method worked for the girl dog and she pretty much learned to behave at the mention of the flyswatter, but the male dog is a little more dense. Or a masochist.

My first pet ever was a beige longhair named Puff. I was 5, give me a break =) We had just moved back to the US to the house my parents bought from my great aunt [it was one of 3 hulking queen anne victorians. He built one for each son, and one for himself and my aunt lived with he and her mother in that house until 1950. Well, GGF and GGM died in the teens, but Aunt Bessie didn't bother moving until 1950.] She had 2 litters of kittens, we kept one kitten from each litter.

Then after she died at the age of 19, I had been living on my own and had moved to Virginia Beach, I had a stray tom adopt me, named Pyewackett. Animal control named him Conan the Cat after we had moved to Portsmouth VA. He was a hulking 20 pounds of pure muscle. He used to attack the pit bulls belonging to the across the street neighbors. Animal control said that if they wanted to push the issue, they would confiscate the pitties, as they were illegal in Portsmouth at the time. Fastest cat I ever saw. He could go from a purring lump on the stoop of the house to over a hedge, across the sidewalk, street, sidewalk and 5 feet up the tree 20 feet from the sidewalk by the time the squirrel got up the tree. He never went the rest of teh way up the tree, he was just messing with the squirrels. He would kill any squirrel he found in our actual yard though.

After Pye died about 9 years after we moved to CT, we got Banzai, a beautiful first generation himalayan [mom was persian, dad was siamese] pure black until he started going outside and that gorgeous 4 inch long fur started bleaching out on the tips. He *knew* he was gorgeous. Sweet disposition. I miss him the most of all my cats, when he was finally dying of kidney failure from a tumor he snuck outside so I didn't even get to bury him.

I now have Jezebel - a cute lazy jellicle van.

Dogwise, I had a husky shepherd mix named Blue we bought in Portsmouth VA, that moved to CT with us, and shortly after we moved here I got a wolf hybrid from a breeder that was retiring. He used Lugh to restore some wolf genes to deal with the inbreeding issue. He was actually illegal here in CT since he was actually mostly wolf. Sweet disposition, was adopted as mommy by a turkey chick we had. Funny as hell seeing a 20 pound tom turkey hanging out with a wolf =). Lugh died at the age of 14 which is absolutely ancient for his type, and blue was mourning him, so we gave her to a friend who had several huskies and she was much happier. Now our roomie has Souage, a cute little shepherd - someone dumped her at the farm. Took Phlip about 2 months to get her to trust her.

                  Last summer we got Tootsie:

She's an American Labrador (I'd never heard of the breed),she has most of the Lab traits like soft mouth & very friendly but one she doesn't have is love of the cold.Unlike one of our former dogs Hank (RIP) who used to sleep in the biggest snowbank he could find

How'd we get her? We,along with our friends, stole her.

What happened was her owner is an absolute prick when it comes to dogs,he gets them, them does things like go away for days without leaving the poor things any food or water.
So when our friends found her with her head stuck in a gate they called us & said we needed to take her,so they brought her over & we fell in love with her immediately.
We got her fixed,shots,etc... & she's settled in beautifully, even went on a trip to Colorado Springs with us a few months ago.

Then we got Nova from our local Animal Control:

She was terrified of Tootsie for awhile, but she finally realized that Tootsie just wanted to play,so now they chase each other all over the house & wrestle

Nova shows no sign of wanting to go outside, which is good,we've lost 4 cats over the years to local predators, including one that made it for 9 years 'til something finally got him.

I have three feeder goldfish named Alicia, Garment, and Dolphin. My five year old niece named them. I got them when they were small and now they are getting pretty big and fat, also because of my niece and feeding them. I wouldn't admit it in real life, but I really like them and would be pretty sad if they died. Lol.

I'm currently owned by two animals.

Shandy is a 12 year old golden retriever, although you would think he was half that age. Has a huge smile as if he's about to burst out laughing at any moment. It was my ex's idea to have a dog, but as can sometimes be the case, Shandy decided he was mine (or rather, that I was his). He knew I was pregnant before I did and became very protective of me. Then when my son was born the protection extended to him. He will never bark at other dogs when out walking, even if they bark at him, but when he's at home he lets me know when anyone else is around, whether animal or human. A stomach on legs, would eat a week's dinners at one sitting if allowed.

Purdey is my fluffy grey and white kitty, who started hanging around the back of the store where I work. None of our efforts succeeded in tracing her owner, so I brought her home and she now rules the place. The vet guessed her age at about 4 or 5. She wasn't so fluffy at first, but with proper food and care her coat sort of blossomed and she now has a tail like an ostrich feather, She 'talks' to me, purrs like crazy. loves cuddles and attention - her current favourite sleeping place is along the mantelpiece in the living room, which gets lovely and warm by the evening. All four feet dangle off the edge. If you tickle them, all she does is spread them so you can tickle in between her toes.
Engaged to the sweet Mytical He is my Black Dragon (and yes, a good one) strong, protective, the guardian. I am his Silver Dragon, always by his side, shining for him, cherishing him.

Don't have enough time to bring up all our kiddos. Currently just have the one cat, Casey (my avatar). When I had my apartment, I had Alex, the flame-point Siamese. Lost him early to heart failure, and I still miss my Pumpkin. When he first got sick, the friend that has my horse told me that if anything happened to him, I'd get a kitten when they next had a litter. About 2 months after I had to put Alex down, I came to work one day to find out that their cat was expecting.

I chose Casey, the only boy in the litter. Since my apartment didn't have an official pet form or policy, my flame-point Siamese kind of morphed into a blue-lynx Himilayan kitten.

I've since bought Casey a house, so he doesn't have to worry about being found in the apartment anymore. He's currently crashed on the back of the couch, just by my shoulder.

I currently have one cat and several fish.

Merlin the cat (pictured in my avatar) was a stray when he came to me. I'd recently lost my previous cat, and Merlin showed up on Christmas Day in 2003. I heard a cat howling outside, and since it was cold out, I decided to see if the cat wanted to come in to spend the night. As soon as I opened the door, he came running in and acted like he'd always lived here. He's never left, and he's just the sweetest cat ever. He loves people and loves belly rubs, and everyone in the apartment complex (and the mailman and local delivery people) love him.

As for the fish, they're all store-bought- several mollies (that I call "the stupid mollies" because they keep killing themselves in stupid ways ), a yo-yo loach named Genesis (jokingly called Genefish), and a clown pleco that is so shy I have to do a daily check to make sure it's still alive.

Genefish (who was named after Genesis Rhapsodos from FFVII Crisis Core) is quite the character. XD He's lazy and always lays on his side, or he chases the mollies around until they turn around and bite him on the nose, or he pokes the pleco to make it freak out. I never get tired of watching the fishy antics, and neither does Merlin.

Ahh jellicle cats come out tonight!

Ok, funny cat story time: it was my turn to visit the bf this weekend, and since Ri is still on meds, he came along. Bf's cats (both jellicles, ha) and Ri get along, so no worries.

Get home Sunday, and poor Morg had a fit... Here's Ri, whom she doesn't like, and he smells of two other cats!! Ri looked confused why he was getting hissed at.

                                Morg really needs to chill...
