My youngest Daughter Little BIts was admitted to the hospital today with a 4 mm kidney stone and a massive kidney and urinary track infection. They are possibly doing a Ureteroscopy in the morning to remove the stone.

UPDATE
Little Bits is still in the hospital. The stone is in the lower pole of the left kidney. They are going to us lithro to blast the stone once the infection is cleared. The stone is not the whole problem though. She has previously been diagnosed with Chronic Pancreatitis of unknown origin. She has gone through multiple tests and biopsies. The Drs think she may also be having a flair up with the Pancreatitis along with the stone. I do not know how much longer she will be in the hospital. Hopefully we will know more in the morning when the Drs come in. Little Bits is not a little child, she is a teenager. The nickname little bits comes from how small she was at birth.

The hell? I didn't know teens could get kidney stones! Poor dear!
*goes to look up pancreatitits* <--- sounds dreadfully like "lol wedunno" from the docs.
This calls for an expensive treat for Bits! or at least another hug.
EDIT: okay so it is more specific that "we don't know what's going on." awesome.
meyh.
Sounds like a rough week (crosses fingers for less, not more) for her (and you). I hope she's well soon.Last edited by teh_blumchenkinder; 04-06-2011, 07:36 AM."Is it the lie that keeps you sane? Is this the lie that keeps you sane? What is it?Can it be?Ought it to exist?"

I hope everything works out for Little Bits. I don't know much about pancreatitis in humans, but my dog has it and has to be on a special diet. When her's flares up she looks miserable so I can only imagine how bad it must be for your daughter.
