I have no idea what to call this but there have been maybe 10 or so times in my life where it was like I blinked and that was my entire night of sleep, like it would be late and I close my eyes and when I open them it would be morning. As far as dreams go I've been talking to a friend about them and I've also been keeping a dream journal to write them all down.

I had sleep apnea as a newborn. Serious. I outgrew it, though.

I've had conversations in my sleep, too.

4 of the 6 meds I take at 5 am have drowsiness as a side effect, and until I managed to get 2 changed out for different ones, 3 meds I took at 1 pm caused drowsiness.

When I was first working to find a cocktail that worked to keep my blood pressure out of the trees I would spend most of the day from 530 in the morning to about 5 in the afternoon doing the damnedest sine wave sort of activity down into sleep and up into awake. I had to stop watching tv marathons because it seemed I had about a 45 minute cycle. I would start watching something, close my eyes and be 10 minutes into a new episode, watch for about 15 minutes, close my eyes and open them to a new episode I would have absolutely no feel of time passing, the only reason I know what was going on was for about a week our roomie had to sleep on the couch because she loaned her space in the barn to a friend [i have a phobia about strangers in my house] and she watched this going on.

[I still nap crash for about an hour after my 5 am meds and my 1 pm meds, stupid pills. At least I don't sleep all day any more!]

I had conversations with people in my younger years. Whenever I slept over at someone's house, they would always be woken up to me talking about cooking or cartoons o_0

I used to scream in my sleep as a teen, where I was having (one of many many) recurring nightmares and I would scream and scream until someone grabbed me and threw me back down onto the bed... then peaceful!

Once, I slept 19 hours in a row. I dreamed that I lived an entire life as this Korean girl in feudal times, who was prophesized to birth a great leader... then kill my only true loves. I lived, was raped by a guy I fell in love with (we were both assassins and I went about as a man), got pregnant... dude made Korea his plaything, I raised the kid, sent him out to kill his dad, dad finished raising kid, kid brainwashed by the dude, I kill dude I loved, then kill my boy, and free all of Korea from the only two people I ever loved. ...and apparently, I acted out this entire life in fast motion, from early childhood to a late death, laying on my back while my boyfriend watched. @_@

Now, all I'm told I really do is grind my teeth (have a mouth guard), beg my boyfriend to stay with me in the bed (which includes violently grabbing him and tucking myself under him), and crying for sugar.

Yea, that's generally what happens to me when I don't see my dreams. I close my eyes and the next thing I know, the sun's up and it's time to go to work. It's like, "Wtf? When did I actually fall asleep?"

Never had sleep paralysis. I do have a lot of lucid dreams though. It's awesome.

I have one friend who now and then, from what I know, has night terrors. She had one really bad night and I had her come over my place so I could watch her. It was horrible. She was constantly freaking out in her dream state and I got nailed in the balls a few times. She says she heard me though in her dreams as I whispered to her, letting her know I was there and wouldn't let anyone hurt her. It's amazing how dreaming can be like that.
