  • F U Mother Nature (spring version)

as I type this out there is mega thunder, lighting and rain. it will be this way for the next 12 hours or so (according to the weather report). I love seeing half of the state in yellow (moderate to heavy rain) and being under a flood watch/warning for the next 48 hours. I do hope this summer is NOT like last summer's 5 time rain dump, with streets flooded with 18 inches of water and sewer lids shooting up 2 or 3 feet in the air.

First it was a late season 16 inch snowstorm now it is MEGA rain and thunder
I'm lost without a paddle and headed up SH*T creek.

Well the flooding would not be good, but I will say I love heavy rain with thunder and lightning. Send it this way!

It was a good storm in that we didn't get the 1 inch hail as promised. And you got 16 inches in that last snow? ha ha! Only got 14 over here. It was a wet nasty one though.

I used to love thunderstorms . . . Mother Nature's version of the Fourth of July.

Now they trigger horrendous migraines, so I tend to dread them

I do enjoy them on the rare occasions they don't, though.

We've had a lot of rain, and a string of storms the past couple of weeks. My whole yard is water logged, and the grass turning into a forest because I can't get out to mow
They say that God only gives us what we can handle. Apparently, God thinks I'm a bad ass.

I am disappointed. They ramped last night and today up to be something so amazing, and so far, nada.

A little hail and rain yesterday afternoon, cleared up, last night there were a few rumbles and one loud bang of thunder.....we've been under a severe weather warning since last night, until late tonight.....nope. The sun is out.

I will believe this when I see it. And as far as the 75 degree forecast, um. No.

The weather channel is trying to say 34 degrees and snow next Saturday. The fucking nerve.

I hope that's not true, but my local news hasn't updated the weather yet. They still say 51 for next Saturday.

no rain at all here, some wind and it's over 80 and humid as heck....ugh....my very fuzzie kittie is not happy....it's only april it should not be this damn hot already!
Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes

The man of the household reported lightning between 3:30 and 4 pm.

I am reporting a thunderstorm at 8:53 pm.

The damn tornado siren scared the crap out of me.

Storm sirens woke me up shortly after 4, was upgraded to tornado warning around 4:30-4:45, even though by then the sun was back out.

Supposed tornado about 20 miles southeast of me, but they are waiting on the NWS to check it out.

I just survived the Storm of the Century, so I'm happy. It hit bad west of me and then made a beeline for my town. They got golfball-sized hail, but I'm glad we didn't get the baseball-sized hail they said was a possibility. I spent the better part of an hour in my closet, waiting for my death. OK, hyperbole, but we were really getting pounded on the west side and I was really scared. I have no basement and I'm on the top floor. The huge tree out front lost 1/3 it's branches and after the storm the sidewalk was flooded ankle-deep. The sirens kept going off. So glad it's over. Hope Irv is ok; his county has a tornado warning.

Thankfully most of the nasty stuff went south of us Becks. Now Irv might have gotten hit. and about 9:45pm the sky was crystal clear with stars and a cresent moon

I may say FU Mother Nature but the light show was GREAT. YES I have some pics. they are a bit grainy because I had to use the low light and slow shutter settings on my camera.

Irv is alive and well....but tired and cranky because the sirens got him out of bed as he was just falling asleep.

All that for lots of lightning and thunder, a little wind, and maybe 7 drops of rain. It was probably worse out in the country.

We got the first really bad one and you got the second, smaller storm, Irv. Sleep well tonight.
