  • Wishing for a time machine.

I have found myself wishing to go back to this morning and do it all over again.

You see today when I put my laundry into wash I added a special ingrediant. Iphone.

Yes I washed my iphone this morning. Arn't I special?

It is currently in a bag of rice. I am hoping that when I take it out on monday that it works again. My Fiance repairs broken ipods for a hobby so maybe he can fix it if it does not work.

If it does not work, I have a crappy old phone to use until the iphone 5 comes out.......

Lets all applaud how special this morning was. UGH. At least I am not freaking out.
My sanity has been dripping out of me my whole life, today they turned on the faucet.....

Did you have the insurance? The nice wonderful awesome guys at my closest apple store replaced mine for free.

I put my Razr (yes, I have not upgraded in a while) into the washer a couple weeks ago. Fortunately, I got it out before the thing started agitating. Tank was still filling. So It only got wet. I took the battery out and let it lay around overnight, then hit it with the hair dryer to make sure nothing was still went before powering it back up. Still works.

Good luck on the phone repair! I hope the Iphone 5 comes out soon. I myself don't like apple products, but i know how frustrating it is to not have a phone or appliance not working when you need/use it nearly every day.
I can only please one person a day, today isn't your day, and tomorrow doesn't look good either.

<Hugs> I'm notorious for washing things. Worst one was my MP3 player - felt like a right numpty after doing that. Did give me an excuse to go and get a new one though!

But the list of things I've washed is.....ummm...extensive. MP3 player, travelcard, credit card, money, paper - clearly I don't learn from my mistakes!

Sounds like your Razr wanted a bath and didn't bother to warn you beforehand.

I almost had a major meltdown last fall when my Nokia flip phone (not eligible for upgrade for a few more months yet) jumped out of my pocket when I was getting out of the car when running errands with Mom and landed in a puddle.

Phone came apart: the back cover that was over the original cover, the back cover and the battery popped out and all went swimming.

I quickly scooped up the pieces and Mom and I started drying them off with napkins we keep in the glove compartment. Then I put the phone back together and she's still kicking to this day.

And ever since then my Mom has accused me of trying to teach my phone to swim.

Ah, at least it's coming out in May! My bf's been waiting since they announced it and he only has a home phone.

You'd be amazed at how stuff bounces back if you can dry it out. I dropped a freaking digital camera into a creek once (actually, "dropped" is not the word. "wore it on my shoulder as my unconscious body fell into the Horsepasture River" is more accurate. I came to and saw it going down at the head. Good thing the water was good and cold. It still worked, too. Even though it was all like "keep dry!!! OMG, don't get this camera wet! Do not breathe on this camera! Do not photograph a glass of water with this camera! ELEVENTY!! in the instruction manual.

Just pop the batteries and keep it off until it's good and dried out.

I am fairly certian that the phone is a brick now. I tried to turn it on and then connected it to a computer. Nothing happened. My fiance will look at it tommrrow to see what he can do. I am honestly thinking of selling it on ebay. I can get what I paied for it.

My fiance said that he will give me his iphone and he will go back to his blackberry. Until the iphone 5 comes out. then he will get that.

I think I"ve mentioned this before but my daughter fried her phone when she dropped it in the toilet

I have been lucky I guess and have never done any of these things to my phone.....but then I keep it away from water as much as possible.
