I dropped my iPod (first gen. Nano) into a cup of soda in my car once...you could see the bubbles in the screen. I stood it up on a paper towel on my dresser and let it sit there for a couple weeks (checked it after a couple of days and it still didn't work right). After a couple weeks it worked fine. I got a new one the Christmas before last; my dad has the old one now and it still works fine.

I, uh, never told him about the soda incident.

... uh, what happened?? o_O Why did you end up in a creek!
Hiking and made the mistake of dodging underneath some downed trees without taking my hat off (hence obscuring my overhead vision). Missed the last one and hit my head so hard it knocked me out colder than a piece of concrete. Nothing quite like coming to laying half in and half out of an icy creek with your gear bobbing merrily next to you and with a concussion and sprains you can't explain later. Fun times.

The camera was in the case, and the case probably kept most of the water out long enough so that all the thing suffered was a quick ducking. Fortunately, it was not powered up, so I was able to take the batteries out and open it up in the warm sunshine for a while to dry it out.

GOOD NEWS EVERYBODY!!! (anyone reading that as Dr. Farnsworth?)

My Future husband has the computer reconizing it. Says he needs to replace the battery. !!!

This might not be a tragity.

I've got one better...Back when I was actually employed, I used to carry gum inside my lab coat, well, guess what? Gum & a dryer a happy couple do not make plus, I did that not once, not twice, but three times *facepalm* ..Scrubbing dried gum off of the dryer drum was a bitch I tell ya...But just FYI for anyone who may wonder, liquid fabric softener & a Brillo pad works wonders

Oh, gum! Yeah...that's a regrettable combo, gum and a dryer.

I had a roommate put a bic ballpoint in the dryer once, with his good white shirts. Did you know hairspray will take ink out of a shirt and off the inside of a dryer? It will.

Fortunately for my roommate. That pen exploded like a pipe bomb.
