I was not expecting the revelation (I came into the episode a bit confused because I only caught the last few minutes of 'The Almost People')...I seem to recall a mention/implication of the Tenth Doctor fathering a child...was that child related to River/Melody??

The Tenth Doctor fathered a child, kind of. That was Jenny in "The Doctor's Daughter." Technically, she is a clone, not an offspring--well, a genetic replication taken from his DNA. Obviously not a clone if you've seen her. (Hint: WOW!)

As for the revelation, I found it out from a friend blurting it out on Facebook, with no warning of spoilerage. Said friend was suitably chastised, by myself and others.

Loved "A Good Man Goes to War." I think it was one of the 3 best Matt Smith episodes, along with his first ("The Eleventh Doctor") and one from this season ("The Doctor's Wife"). All three were extraordinary.

Greatest line from "The Eleventh Doctor": "Hello. I'm the Doctor. Basically....run."
Greatest line from "The Doctor's Wife": "Fear me. I've killed hundreds of Time Lords." "Fear ME. I've killed all of them."
Greatest line from "A Good Man Goes to War": Hard to decide. So many good ones. Not all of them The Doctor's.

What I'm wondering about (of course, given that the Doctor gets out of the dire straits he appears to be in currently) is how they will stick with the canon of the Eighth Doctor whenever they get to the Twelfth.
What canon is this? (Asked the man completely unfamiliar with the canon of the earlier incarnation of the show....)

I thought in the first season of the Eleventh Doctor's run that he never lived up to his amazing showing in the first show of that season. But in the second, he has exceeded that at least twice, as indicated above. And he can be quite scary, as he was at least once in the first season in the drilling episode. His warning to the mother was creepy beyond belief.

Jester, Georgia Moffett is Peter Davidson's (Fifth Doctor) daughter. Talk about keeping it in the family! She and David Tennant met during the filming of that episode, married and fairly recently had a daughter. No reports of it having a time-head, though.

cinema, there's supposed to be one more episode this year. Its not gone yet. But yes, it sucks. Of course, have you noticed that ALL the tv shows are doing that now? Before the strike, a season was 20-22 episodes. Ever since then, they've gotten lazy and are only giving between 10 and 13 episodes (at least on American television). Its disgusting.
This is because (from what I have been told) they're doing British seasons, not American ones. And since Dr. Who is British that would make sense. Any Brits care to tell me if I'm full of shit or not?

            WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I heard the revelation about River's identity but not this.
Think about River's identity, and her relationship with The Doctor.

And Rory's a father now. Of course he's going to kill the Doctor! He's messing with his little girl!

Highlight above so there are no spoilers for those who haven't seen and don't know

We do tend to the short series, comedy series are usually 6 episodes or so dramas are longer 10/12ish. Link on TV tropes which explains it better than I can.

Tuned in near the end of the episode (just before the retreat was called) and at the end I was thinking "what did River tell The Doctor, a man who is never without the right word to say, to become so completely speechless?"

Then River drops the bombshell on Rory and Amy.

Yup, if anything would do it, that would be it.

Dasota, I have a completely different theory about who the perpetrator is than you do, and I believe mine is supported by many hints that have been dropped throughout the show. I'll leave it at that.

(Actually, I have two theories, but one makes more sense to me than the other, though I can't figure out the underlying motivation in either one. But then, if it makes sense, it's almost certainly not going to be the direction the writers take.)

"A Good Man Goes To War" was an outright awesome episode (would have been more awesome if Captain Jack had been there, but alas), and Rory got to be badass again. Strax (the Sontaran) was hilarious, Madam Kozarian (Eyepatch Lady) is evil, and River got her moments in too.

The Wham Moment of the ending of the episode, followed by the screen saying "The Doctor will be back in LET'S KILL HITLER" just made me burst out laughing.

Because that title just screams "lazy Sunday" for some reason...

Doctor: "So! The whole of time and space await, where d'you wanna go next?"
                      Amy: "I don't know."
Rory: "We could go to Space Florida."
Amy: "Eh, I've been there. Automatic sand's nice'n all, but it's not as great as you'd think. We could pop by ancient Rome!"
Rory: "I've... had enough of Roman stuff, thanks."
Doctor: "Last time I went anywhere near Rome, it turned out to be Volcano Day."
Amy: "I'm sure Churchill'd like to see you again, try to steal the TARDIS from you again."
Doctor: "Ah! That's it, that's perfect, Pond, you're magnificent, I know exactly where we're going to and what we're going to do!"
                      Ponds: "What?"
Doctor: "Let's kill Hitler." (pulls lever, away they go)

One thread that hasn't been fully woven in yet is exactly why River Song is in Stormcage.
I know what she said, and given what Amy said to Melody just before she was taken away I think it may not be who some people originally thought it would be

No, but it's been hinted at, on more than one occasion.

                              Doctor River Song.

                              It's not her title.

She took the Doctor's name when she married him.
