As I've mentioned I have 24 goats, one of these goats is a 170kg-200kg goat named Big Red and he can be a bit of a prick but today is the last straw.

I had to go into town so I drove to the gate, hopped out and opened it and drove through ( I've got my 4 year old in the back seat). Big Red decides he wants to go through the gate too and I can't let him do that, so I'm trying to shoo him away.

That's when he gets pissed off, he rams me in the stomach and pins me against the car, I have no idea how long I was pinned only that I was screaming for help when I knew there was no one around to help me, he was pushing so hard I was having trouble breathing.

I managed to get him away enough for me to move but when I did he came at me again and slammed me up against the gate and knocked me off my feet, I am terrified and I can hear my son screaming and crying.

He did get off me, I bolted up, locked the gate and ran to the car and I sat in there bawling my eyes out.

This is my room mates goat so either it goes or I go, I won't live with that thing any longer, I'm scared for myself and the 3 kids.

I have no problem packing up the kids and leaving, if hubby wants to come great if not i'm still going.

My legs and chest are really sore and I'm quite shaken up, my little boy wouldn't leave my side, he's here beside me as I type this.

So that's it, it's me or the bastard goat!!

    200kg? *googles*
GOOD GONADS that beast is large.
Also, room-mate is totally on the hook for controlling their animal. Take him/her to task for it, at least...

Yeah, if that had been me, I think I'd be picking up some naan bread to go with a very, very large batch of goat tikka masala. (Dammit, now I'm craving Indian food and I don't know if my stomach could handle it yet.)

"small" livestock can be huge, my rambouillet ram was 250-275 pounds ... luckily he was a softie and a sweetheart, very gentle. Goats can be horribly violent, even the females [it is mainly because they are also very intelligent and can get bored and destructive]

Goat curry, goat soup, roast goat ... goatskin drum skins ...

And I don't blame you for either me or the goat ... he could have killed you. [Cujo the goat?]

O.o Yeah...The beast has to go. Impress upon your roommate how AWFUL they'd feel if the goat had killed you and left your husband to raise your kids alone. Really.

"small"--- I can believe that. When cows, horses, oxen, and the like, get up to 2-3 tons (1000 kgs roughly per ton)... yeah.
Now I want a draft horse.
AD, do you have a picutre of said sweetie? I find it totally squee-worthy that a ram was easygoing and a sweetheart!

The reason why Big Red acted that way is because the female goats are on season and he is horny as hell, female humans can't walk past him without him having a go.

This morning he broke down the pen where we house the female goats, they have now escaped into the paddock, room mate can deal with getting them penned when he gets home from work cause I'm not walking out there with big red around.

Oh, and roomie told me he's not getting rid of him until he sires a kid, shows how much he gives a shit about me, I'm thinking of taking a little trip to the next door neighbour and borrowing her gun so I can put the bastard down myself, I can imagine the shit storm that would bring.
