  • I'm still alive

This tornado outbreak was a little too close for comfort. The one that took out Piedmont passed just north of my town, close enough I could hear it.

The lady packed her car in the garage so it wouldn't get hailed on, now it's in a tree.

Glad you're ok, DP. I was hearing reports of 3 or 4 EF4s or EF5s on the ground.

I'm going to need to check in with my Dallas office tomorrow morning. I just heard reports of a tornado on the ground at Love Field and softball size hail.

Okay, that volleyball-sized hail has got to be close to a record. Imagine one of those hailstones flying through your windshield.

Yeah that was a freaky night! I'm just north of OKC and the sirens went off 4 or 5 times, really scared the kiddos. We had our bathroom stocked and ready to take cover if we needed to. Still surreal to watch it on TV.

You'd only get to see it once. People have been killed by smaller, less dense objects than that.

Well the college got off unharmed, but the same can't be said for the employees.

Several had homes damaged by the tornado or by the debris of other things destroyed. One teacher lost his house and had to put down over 30 goats. The lady who runs the cafeteria lost everything; her home, her car and had to put down several horses.

One good thing, since the student apartments are empty for the summer, the college put all the displaced employees in empty apartments.

It's a miracle that the death toll is only 10 (they found the body of the missing 3 year old yesterday), but there was so much property damage (including a gas line explosion), and a lot of animals died (including an animal sanctuary blown apart), but when actually see the damage,....it is just a miracle.
