  • It's that time of year again...

... where I spend the next few months dying slowly and horribly.

84 F (29 C? I think) on Sunday. Closer to 90 F yesterday. Sure, not as bad as it gets in some places. Looks like it'll be close to the same today. I'm Irish. Born and bred. We do not have the constitution to deal with this weather as we do with beer (at least, in my family).

Sure, there's worse weather to have. Do I feel bad for bitching about it with the horror show that's been going on in the plains? Sure do.

Still don't like it. Still melting.

Hah. Air Conditioning. Nature wants me to do that sure, but all we've got is the one window unit which the wife hates anyway. So no, we have to make do with outdoor air.

Well, there is your problem, 100%! Living anywhere it gets even 90 without central air conditioning is cruel and unusual punishment! So says the doofy chick who moved to the desert, where it gets 115, but still.

Temperatures that high are not that common for you. Hopefully the system that is supposed to move through tonight will bring down the temperatures. I am 3 hours south of you and we are currently at 92

Tell your wife to stuff it. You have every right to be comfortable.

Give me heat! I'm a desert rat so I can handle 80 and 90 degree weather no problem. I love a 100 degrees as long as the air is moving as with a fan or wind. The hottest temperature was 120 degrees and I did heavy exercise with sleeves down and was fine. Just needed water

80 degrees is almost cold for me

I love the colder temperatures. I hate the heat and how it makes it harder to breath when I am outside.

When I grew up in SD, I didn't have year round allergies and 2 different type of inhalers just to get through the day. I get to PA and "BAM" it hits. I tell my husband I'm allergic to PA.

Of course, this is the same man who was in awe of snow when we moved here, since he grew up in CA and he didn't get around snow much. He doesn't want to move to my home state because of the harsh winters. He has a point, I don't miss the harsh winters either, but I'm sick to death of PA people acting full on dumbass mode when they think even a snow flake is going to fall.

Oh..I didn't know you were from SD...Awesome state..now the eastern half has really harsh winters but my neck of the woods is pretty good weather wise until you hit the upper Hills. I love it! I don't want to live anywhere else, the weather is tolerable, we don't usually get too many nasty storms, summer brings big thunderstorms but rarely tornados. It does get hot in the summer but I love the spring and fall!! I grew up in the eastern half and I remember the blizzards, one right after another so when I came out west, I was in awe of our "banana belt" weather.

I just put the AC in today. My mother has been asking her moron to do it for a while and it was just too damn hot, so I installed it since he's worthless. The AC has been running on high all day long and it's still 85 degrees in the house.

I hate myself sometimes - I cannot tolerate cold and I cannot tolerate heat. Basically, if it's not 60-70 with a breeze, I'm bitching. It was so hot today that I didn't even want to do my homework - I cannot think when I'm dripping sweat and not even moving around. Yay PA.

I grew up in Sioux Falls, so I dealt with harsh winters the entire time I was growing up. I hated it with a passion. Plus, I was the one who always had to put on five layers of clothes to shovel the snow out of the way.

When I was a teenager, I went up to the Black Hills every summer and never wanted to leave again. I do remember my first thunder storm up there. I was asleep and woke up thinking the world was ending because it seemed an explosion had gone off and shook the house I was in. Of course, it was just the echo of the thunder off the mountains but geez!

If one listens close enough it is almost like you can hear the history there and want to stay to hear the whole story.

I was in awe of CA winters and how I only needed sweater if that to go out at night. I find the weirdest thing to get use to in a state is how the people are and how they react to life.

Since it was in the high 90s yesterday, wife allowed me to put the AC in the bedroom. I then spent the entire evening in that room with it running on high. Didn't venture out except to grab another cold beer, have a smoke, or sneak her birthday presents in.

All in all, it was absolute heaven.

Also, allergies aren't terrible this year for me, since I got the liquid-tab Claritin. I tried that Allegra stuff, that used to be scrip only? 24 hours my ass.

And yes, fireheart, I think we who hate the heat are terribly jealous of your currently low temps

Lets see, it is now 52* here and raining again. I normally have turned off the heat by now but even I am cold.
