There was an article sent down here in Ausland about a guy from Perth (capital city of one of our states) kissing his Canadian girlfriend while the riots were going off.

They were unidentified for a few days and as it turns out, they'd been run over by riot police, so he was trying to comfort her while the riots were going off by kissing her.

That is humbling. I really can't imagine that happening in my town. We help each other out in our neighborhoods when bad stuff happens, but heading downtown or somewhere to clean up after a riot? I'd be surprised.

Yeah, more people showed up to clean up then wrecked it in the first place.

Still really frustrating though as its become so blatantly obvious this was all premeditated. Yeah, a lot of stupid drunk young fuckheads from the suburbs and out of town got caught up in the stupidity. But it still started with these assholes that came to Vancouver with a car they intentionally had ready to set on fire, and with masks and gasoline ready to go. I mean seriously:



What the hell? Fuck you, and your shirt.

I've still yet to see them ID or arrest anyone from Vancouver. It's all been suburbs or out of towners. Which makes it all the more frustrating as it's not their towns and cities that this reflects on.

I haven't heard any hard numbers aside from the first 100+ they picked up during the night of the riots. I will say however that every person I've seen ID'd online through social media so far was arrested and charged inside of 48 hours. The police are doing a good job rounding up every fucktard that thinks they got away with it. Thanks to the tons of photos and videos floating around not many people really got out of there without being on film and their friends/family/coworkers have been outing them to the cops left right and center.

A few people have put up public letters of apology, but the general public isn't buying it. The general consensus is "You are only sorry because you got CAUGHT, you're not sorry for what you did!"

I have to say that for once, I can really appreciate Facebook!

And it's funny how these morons thought they could put up pics and brag about what they did, and didn't even realize that could lead to their arrest! If only more criminals did that, the police would have a much easier job!

I totally agree. The biggest problem that they are facing now is HOW to prosecute everyone, as from what I was able to glean from news, just a picture of somebody breaking a window or looting isn't enough to prosecute???? I'm not sure exactly but something about it not being "ironclad proof" and requiring witnesses, etc. Also, the courts are so backed up because of the lack of sherriffs that they've already had to dismiss cases where hardened criminals were being tried due to overlong waits, I don't know when/how they're going to prosecute the rioters and looters - what I fear will happen is they'll just get a slap on the wrist
