How can you call "Barbarella" a forgettable movie?

The opening scene is a nekked Jane Fonda in zero gravity!

The band Duran Duran took their name from the angel guy!

It's a classic piece of "What the f*** were they thinking?" cinema!

Maybe. Or maybe they raise above it. Not saying they get ugly, but just stop caring about the ramications of their actions on the part of social mores. Or seek vengence.

One can seek and enact vengence without it going into revenge or even lost of limbs or life.

Frankly, the man in Falling down had really no reason to snap honestly. He had a great life.
Agreed, and I know quite a few people who have raised themselves above their circumstances...so far, at least. But everyone has their breaking point. I hope those I hold dear never reach that point...

As soon as I read the OP, I knew that it was Falling Down. Glad to see I wasn't the only one. Great damn movie!

Frankly, the man in Falling down had really no reason to snap honestly. He had a great life.
He was unemployed, living with his mother and lying to her about his employment status, was going through a divorce, had a piece of shit car, and lived in the heart of the bullshit of Los Angeles. (Don't get me wrong, I love L.A. But there is a lot of bullshit there.) Not to mention the fact that his estranged wife had basically told him to stay away from their daughter's birthday.

So, a great life? I would say no. A good enough life where he probably didn't need to snap? Sure. But not only have people put up with more without snapping, many have snapped from far less. He had reached his limit, his threshold, and he was done taking it up the wazoo. He had reached his point of no return, and he acted on it.

You may not agree with it. I don't completely agree with it, though it is fun to watch. But it was hardly a "great life."

That being said, who among us have not wanted to do some of the things he did in the movie? From calling the fast food restaurant on their bullshit menu pictures to dealing with the ridiculousness of getting change from the convenience store even after he bought something to dealing with the neo-Nazi asshole, etc., etc.

Admit it. You've dreamed about doing some of those things, or similar things. I'll admit it. I have.

                  Post seems almost prophetic now.
