Newick's at Dover Point for some of the best seafood.

And, it's not too expensive.

Bar Harbor is only about 2.5-4 hours from Kittery (depending on traffic and if you go around or though Portland).

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys. For the Maine tips too. We're not planning on going as far north as Bar Harbor, sadly, but it's nice to know what there is in the south end of the state.

If you like shopping try the outlets and the Kittry Trading post in Kittery, ME.

Or if you don't mind a drive, Freeport for LL Bean and all the outlets there. I think it's about halfway between Portland and Augusta.

York Beach is fun. Long sands for a beach, short sands for some seaside shopping (best saltwater taffy anywhere is at the Goldenrod!!).
