  • can i shoot it? please?

    little background....

back in 2001 I fell at work at landed on my knee, and had a severe bone bruise on the kneecap itself.

Doctor gave me a week off of work with heavy bedrest since xrays showed no tears, a mild strain, and no breaks. He said it would of been better if I HAD done something to it so he could do something about it.

well it flares up every now and then espically when bad weather threatens.

flash forward to a few weeks ago....I'm helping a friend move and suddenly i get a sharp shooting pain in my knee just below the kneecap like someone just shot a knife hilt deep into it lined with acid and salt.

Doesn't make me fall but halts me dead in my tracks, I pop some aleave and get directed to directing where things go rather then any more heavy lifting.

since then my knee has gone from mild discomfort on the best of days, with flareups on bad weather and occasional pops that sound slightly louder then say someone popping their finger joints....

to it sounding like on a GOOD day someone strumming a taunt rubber band every other step.

I have a doctor's appointment this week with my family doctor that had orginally looked at it when it happened back then....but keep me in good thoughts....I hope to the holy ancients its not so bad that I need to have surgery on it....
It is by snark alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the juice of the coffee bean that thoughts acquire 'tude, the lips acquire mouthiness, the glares become a warning.

Sounds like you might have damaged the ACL or one of the other ligaments (hence the strumming feeling, and the sharp pain - I always likened it to somebody putting a sawed off shotgun ON the knee and pulling the trigger) Definitely go see the Dr - I had my knee repaired, and I've had no issues since.

That's actually a really good way to describe it. I know my MCL is FUBAR'd and it hurts like hell when my knee goes.
