She's been through so much. She nearly died some years ago, then had a traumatic surgical experience a few years later that caused her to stop eating.

She's smart, she has so much personality, and she's filled a huge gap in my life.

She's a real fighter. And I want her to keep fighting and stay with me.

Enjoy your time with her. My flame-point Siamese had heart problems, and he rallied back, and I got to enjoy 9 more months with him. When it's time, they let you know.

Casey (my avatar), who is also my baby sends hugs & kitty head-bonks.

Casey's also under orders that nothing's allowed to happen to him for a long, long time.

This morning, I gave them some of the food the vet gave me. My baby looked at me and meowed, showing all her teeth. Oh, yes, ma'am. Right away. I know she wanted different food.

I bought her the usual stuff and just filled the bowl with it. She buried her face in the food and almost inhaled it. No wonder she hasn't been eating that much! She wanted her regular food back.

I've decided. As long as the quality of her life is at a good level, there's really no reason to take her back to the vet. She may even gain weight now that I've reverted to the food I used to feed her. And she hasn't given me any indication that she wants to go. She's a smart girl.

When Riley was in the vet for a week...it was mainly because he refused to use the litter box. When they finally released him, he had his old litter brand back. That did the trick

Cats know what they like, and when they are sick they are like us....they want their comfort foods (or litter)

Can you mix the vet food with her yummy food, to see if she'll eat the prescribed stuff? Hope she does gain weight back...she does sound like fighter

She really is a fighter. She ate the vet food when I held it out to her on my finger and smeared it on her nose. But she's never really been into the "it's good for you" stuff. Fortunately, the food that she does like, is a high-quality brand with no crap fillers in it. After eating, she came over to me and gave me one of those breathy meows to get attention so I would pet her.

The vet said to me, "She is a very friendly cat."

I almost said, "Really?" (Previous trips to the vet have ended in the vet saying to me, "She hates us.")
