    Rose Tyler?
    Oh hell no!

    Martha Jones?
She'd spend too much time staring at something in awe as she does with everything else, so pass

    Donna Noble?
Early Donna? NO! Nicer Donna from late season 4. Still no, but a highly improved chance.

    Dr. River Song?
    Maybe.

    Amy Pond?
    Best bet really.

Being one of the older participants here,I remember the old assistants and one of my favourites was Tegan Jovanka, played by Janet Fielding and its nothing to do with the size of her chest(well ok a little bit).

Ok, being a woman, I like guys but here's my take on those women...

Rose Tyler is just plain cool.

Martha Jones is kind of whiny.

Donna Noble is annoying as hell and makes me want to punch her.

        I adore Amy Pond.

But the coolest companion of all time? That has got to go to River Song. Not only is she beautiful but she kicks so much ass, older or not.

Oh and I should add that my absolute favorite Dr of all time is David Tennant. It helps that he's cute, but he's got so much charm, and managed to humanize him more than any of the other Dr's. The new Dr is too cold hearted for me although he's still better than Chris Eccleston (sp?).

Oh, she definitely kicks ass. She delivers the line "Hello, sweetie," so damn perfectly, every single time!

Now, to be fair, there were some seriously cold-hearted moments for 10, who would occasionally remind you how much of a badass he really was. How about his major confrontation as The Doctor? "No second chances!" THAT was bad ASS!

True. I will never forget that episode where he basically tortured that alien family for all eternity by doing things like trapping the mother in an event horizon, trapping the sister in a mirror, and turning the brother into a scarecrow. But I find 11 to be more frightening than either 9 or 10. I think I've only ever seen this doctor with an actual gun he's willing to use. The doctor never uses a gun, he uses his wits.

The gun he really only shot into the air, not as an actual weapon.

That being said, 11 has varied from being downright scary to being annoyingly whiny.

He was very scary in his climactic scene in The Eleventh Hour. I mean, come on, his one line has already almost become iconic: "Hello. I'm The Doctor. Basically....run." And he was very threatening when talking to the mother in the drilling episode. (I'm sure someone else has the name of it.) He basically told her that she did not want to fuck with him.

He tried (and almost succeeded) to be that scary in the last episode with the priests/military, but it didn't quite reach the same level.

And he was downright whiny and pathetic in The Pandorica Opens. I wanted to bitchslap him as he was being dragged into the Pandorica, as he was virtually in tears begging his multiple enemies to let him go. Now, can any of you picture 9 or 10 doing that? Personally, I picture 10 telling them they were making a big mistake, and if they didn't let him go right then, they would suffer dire consequences for it....and I can see them actually pausing to consider that.

Yeah, I'm not sure what to think of 11. There's something very threatening about him most of the time, and even... childish at others. 9 or 10 didn't behave that way. I'm not sure what the difference is but its there. Mind you, I still love Dr Who and I can't wait till the end of August for the next episode, but still. I definitely don't like him nearly as much as the other two, and I don't like 9 much either. Its like 11 has mpd or something.

It's a toss up between Donna and River for me in the new series.

In the old one, it would have been Romana #2 (Richard Dawkins' wife!) or Ace.

As I like both genders, here is my prefrence to the women of Who:
                    Donna
                    River
Idris (I like biting! It's like kissing only there's a winner!)
                    Amy
                    Rose
                    Martha

                      Amy, Rose or Ace.

Or can I pick Astrid - She travelled in the Tardis with him. Admittedly only for a short journey but it should still count!

                        Amy Pond, hands down.

Secondary would be Nice Donna. I can barely stand Selfish Donna.
