odd names for children?

Another one I just remembered....I know a girl named Ramsey. Not exactly a typical name for a girl. Hell, she's the only one I've ever met. Or heard of, for that matter. Of either gender.

I knew a boy in 4th grade named Ramsey. He recommended Redwall to me.

Ah. See, Michael Moorcock has a series of novels in which Elric of Melnibone travels around killing people with his soul-eating sword. Elric is an albino, which is why I asked. Thought it might be a tribute.

Also, I have a weird hangup about first initials. ... if I ever have any other kids I am going for names that have unique initials from other family members.

My husband is the same way, actually. I don't mind, really. I'm the oldest of five girls (no brothers), and three of us had the same first initial but different middle initials. Mom just labelled our things with the first two initials instead of just one, and all was good. Hubby, on the other hand, preferred having to only use his first initial when growing up, and it probably helped that his sisters didn't have middle names.

Came across a guy in school who's name was Phuc Yu.

I thought of another name I came across. I had a customer whose name was "Pepsi", I swear that was her real name! I thought it was so unusual and funny that I always remembered her when she came in!
