  • Bye Bandit

Mom just told me they're proceeding with putting down our family dog, Bandit.

He's around 7 years old. We've had him since he was 6 months.

He had disphasyia (?) and some kind of weird bumps on his body that they thought were cancer, but the initial test was inconclusive. They tried antibiotics yesterday, but didn't see much change. And the vet today said it might be something neurological.

    So they're putting him down.

I won't even be able to say good bye.

I hope this isn't too late for Bandit, I had a cat that used to steal everything in the house and hide it and had black rings arounds it's eyes, so she was named that. Anyway, our dog has goofy little bumps and sores in her mouth that they took forever to find out what they are. They biopsied them and it wasn't cancer, but she was put on steriods and B12/Niacin. It took a little tinkering to get her dosage right, but she's fine.

It's too late, unfortunately. But my parents weren't really interested in running a bunch of tests. Which is part of what hurts for me right now.

But found a pic of him, for those who like pics:

Oh I'm sorry I was too late. That's a pretty dog. Looks a lot like my friend's dog Bogey that I rescued and she took in.

So sorry to hear this Kheldarson.

Sounds like dysphagia, which is difficulty swallowing . . . can happen for a variety of reasons, including neurological problems.

I am very sorry for your loss, sounds like a wonderful dog.
