As many of you know, I was working in telesales earlier this year. I quit because I was writing articles and shooting video for another company, and that sort of work is FAR preferable to calling up strangers and trying to sell to them.
Except... I jumped the gun. The client for whom I'm writing articles asked me to scale back on the number I write per month. And the videos aren't done yet, so no payment (except an advance, recently).
So, I applied to every job for which I fit the qualifications, and some for which I didn't. The most common interview question was, "With your background in [insert background here], why do you want to work here?"
Because I need the !*@&#$*# money; what do you think?
(No, I've never said that.)
So! I applied for a job online on Monday. Fabulous thing, that; you can look for work AND apply for it without getting your butt out of the chair. I sent in the application, and about half an hour later, the phone rang.
I went in for an interview on Tuesday.
About two hours ago, I got a call. I'm hired, and I start on Monday!
