USPS question

Quick question for the community. USPS rules for media mail is that it is supposed to be for educational materials, but then says no video games... what about educational video games (such as Oregon Trail)?
Does anyone know?

Media Mail shipping is a cost-effective way to send educational materials in 2 to 8 days. This service has restrictions on the type of media that can be sent. This includes a restriction on sending video games and digital drives.

I would say a game like Oregon Trail could be considered "educational materials" though. (IMO)

As much is it might be a pain in the ass, your best bet might be to just take it to the post office and ask. Ultimately, it'll be down to the descretion of the staff there, so I'd just ask.

Dave, I was kind of hoping I wouldn't have to do that (as much as I love the postal staff, I don't love the other customers)...
Aethian has told me it counted as a game, which is what I figured it would... I was hoping that there would be someone more in the know who would know more than me that knew a way to get around it.

Is your package under 13 ounces? If so you could sent it via First Class. Almost as cheap as Media, without the hassle.

And will get there a lot faster. I've had packages arrive within two days when sent First Class, for half the price of the same two-day Priority service.

Considering my daughters light up stuffed seahorse was sent media mail, I don't think they really check...

They do every now and then. Is it really worth the potential mail fraud charge?
