My birthday was on Tuesday (and I am now of legal drinking age in the US
) and my birthday present was.....
A GLORY BOX!
For the unfamiliar, a glory box is a chest where ladies would store things for the day they were married. Obviously in the modern context, mine is for moving out.
I basically now have enough kitchen implements for two glory boxes. This includes:
-Crockery set.
-Cookware set.
-Kitchen gadgets set. (which includes the basics such as measuring spoons, measuring cups, knife block (yes a knife block), steak knives, grater, spaghetti ladler etc.)
-tea towels.
-whisk and spoon.
-30 tumblers (I shit you not, I got an 18-pack from family, then a 12 pack from another family member, however I may keep the 12-pack for drinking purposes)
-A nonstick dish that can be used in the microwave, stove and oven. We called it a microstoven.
-A MASSIVE square platter.
-Ramekins.
-4-pack of really pretty floral mugs that I will convert into the modern context and use them for guests like my mum does at the moment with some teacups, since my friends are mostly coffee drinkers.
