    Yup!

    Apparently a 5.8 in Virginia.

It was REALLY interesting over here in NYC, we don't exactly get noticeable ones that often.

I felt it up here, landline and internet cut out for a bit as well. At first I couldn't figure out what it was; the usual cause of things shaking are the people upstairs but we didn't hear anything up there.

Yeppers. My coworkers and I felt it not far from Pittsburgh. Around 2pm, our building was shaking. At first, I thought I was getting a migraine. Then my coworkers noticed that their flat-screens were shaking We've had quakes here before, but not like this! Usually, they're just enough to trip the seismograph at the Carnegie.

Yeah my boyfriend lives in NYC. He was the first person I texted and he said he felt it too.
It freaked me out. My computer monitor and glass bottles shook.

Heh. I thought my chair was falling down on me at first. It just started wobbling. When it didn't stop and didn't fall, I asked if others felt it. Yeah, most people here felt it just fine.

No damage, though, from the looks of it.

Hubby called to let me know Mom in law is okay. She lives in the DC area. Apparently all her pictures fell off the walls and scared her pretty bad.

Felt it. In fact, I was alerted to the fact that there was an earthquake when my desk chair suddenly developed magic fingers.

I guess we forget we're on a fault over here.

Weird. I come from earthquake country. Thought we had the bragging rights. Glad y'all are ok.

USGS is caling it a 5.9 now. Eastern north AMerica is too solid for quakes to be absorbed so they travel very long distances (look up the NEw Madrid quakes).

People have reported feeling it from North Carolina to Toronto.

Edit:; USGS is also reportin a 5.3 in Colorado earlier today.

Felt up here, briefly, in Northeast Ohio. No damage, just 30 seconds of sickening shaking. Glad to hear everyone else is okay, so far.

We definitely felt it here. The floor was shaking and the monitors on the wall were wobbling. People booked it out.

We're back inside now, but if there are any aftershocks, screw it, I'm gone.

Same here in Beachwood. Of course, our office building is so poorly built, I thought it was one of my co-workers running through the hall....

I work in downtown DC and the earthquake shook the building, scaring the everloving crap out of everyone. No damage or injuries as far as I can tell.

Felt it here in Marietta, OH. Was a strange feeling.
