I just sent the manager from my former job an email stating that I'm available to work externally.

Yes, I know; we didn't have a good time of it before. Looking back, though, I can see that I was very rude and pushy too. It wasn't all her, or even her boss. Yes, they both made bad decisions. So did I.

I'm not looking to be back there full-time, though I would entertain the possibility if it presented itself. A lot has happened in my life and, more importantly, in my attitude. There are a lot of things I want to do, and I'm now much more motivated than I've ever been.

The full-time job I just got is great in terms of no boss on the premises, easy work, great coworkers, and good music to work by. It's less great that it's out of town and if I have an appointment during the day (which hasn't happened yet) I will have to take the whole day off, or manage to find transportation out there on my own. It's also not the kind of money I'd really like to make per month, though another bonus is that it pays my monthly insurance payments.

I can also write articles and make my lip balm to sell. I have several tubes, and a friend of mine is printing labels for them, which I can pick up tomorrow. I'm still working on those videos. And so it goes.

I know I'm going in the right direction - will you give me a "Good luck!" for the road?

Compared to the way things were half a year ago, you sound more optimistic.
      Good luck

It's never a good idea to burn bridges when you leave a job. If you can stay on good terms, that will benefit you in the long run.

        Good job!
They say that God only gives us what we can handle. Apparently, God thinks I'm a bad ass.

I got an email today saying that they'll keep me in mind if they need someone, which is what I'd expected. It was polite.

In other news, a friend has offered me Saturday work at his store! More cash; more to do. I'm still applying for other jobs, because I'm looking for something I love to do that will pay better and have real benefits. It's out there!
