2011 Christmas Cards-Tally Time! - Please don't forget!

GENERAL REMINDERS

1. Please remember to tally in as timely a manner as you are able.

2. Please be sure to post as accurate a record as possible, as this helps us to run things smoother behind the scenes. (Example: Neither Pedersen nor myself sent out cards, yet we both have 2 tallies credited to our name. Why, I'm not really sure. )

3. If you find yourself unable to participate due to unforeseen circumstances, please be sure to let myself, Pedersen, and/or a moderator know as soon as possible. Once the tallies are closed, all members who did not contribute and did not notify us will be entered onto the block list for next year, which to the best of my knowledge cannot be edited once I submit it. So far only one person has PM'd me about this, so I'm assuming the rest of you are good to go.

P.S. The Plaidman Tally is in place only because it can't be removed without breaking the entire database, and thus can be disregarded.

I highlighted it in the screenshot below.

(I'm pretty sure that Juniormintz can take your circumstances into account and make sure you don't end up on the blocked list if you PM her and explain why your cards may not reach people by that date.)

OK, I went back and did my official tally for the CS list. Looks like 28 people say they have gotten my cards...I hope none went missing

Are you talking about the actual page where you post your tallies or the page that shows the tallies?

With IE9, both pages are in non-alphabetized order. With Firefox and Chrome the tally posting page is alphabetized, but the tally viewing page is not.

That's why it's so important for people to tally in a timely manner.
If I sent out over 40 cards, and only see that 30 have been received, then I'm in a panic wondering if something happened to my cards.

Tallying also helps us to see who came through on the commitment and who didn't.

If I don't see a card from somebody, but I see that the majority of members have, then I know my mail must have been mislaid or something, but if nobody else is showing cards, then I know the person obviously didn't send them out, so it's no panic on my end.

Tallying is just a courteous thing to do for all involved.

I received a nice card from protege today. Only 7 remain to be received. All of these have very low counts on the tally sheet.

I know I sent out the right amount, I counted my left over cards and I only sent them out for the CS people.

On a totally unrelated issue, Ree your avatar banging his head matches the beat with "Amish Paradise".. I LOL'd in the library while watching that.

I've been tallying as I go but when I take the cards down I'll run through them all again to double check.

I keep worrying that I have missed tallying some.
I see a name on the list and I think, "I was sure I saw a card from them..." but I have gone through the cards that are stuck up on my wall and I don't see any I missed.

I go through this every year. Which is why I've been trying to be extra careful by tallying them before they go out on display in the living room.

Speaking of cards, I got one from Protege today.
