I don't think I shared this story, but it was reminded to me by The "I died a little" post.
I was talking with a CW at work who is about my age, and we were talking and a 20 something CW was listening in. He was telling me about how on Jimmy Kimmel he was using the "sex ruins the legs" from Rocky as a 'meme', but we both drew a blank on the actor who played the trainer in Rocky (Burgess Merideth). Then I go "Oh You know, The Penguin"
CW my age goes "Oh Yeah....."
Younger CW Says "No! He wasn't the Penguin... Danny DeVito was the Penguin"
Then I smacked him....

I think I had to explain the "cover song" concept to her. To be fair, it often surprised me (and sometimes still does) that a song I hear and love, even one I've known for years, was not original to the artist I thought it was. C'est la vie...


that it took me a minute to figure out why the kid in the OP was wrong. I always forget about that show.
