The rest of New Jersey...meh. My five years there felt like ten.
And you weren't likely to qualify for "time off for good behavior" either.

Lest anyone think otherwise, I have never and will never use any of those pathetic "shows" as the basis for my opinions on New Jersey.

"Jersey Shore" blows, but the Jersey Shore rocks.

That does not, however, change any of what I said, as THAT part of New Jersey still exists, and you know it.
    WhatEVER...

I cannot stand any of the reality shows set in NJ, at least not of the Jersey Shore ilk. Cake Boss might be good but I don't watch it. My sister in law went up there last year and took pictures of the place (not to mention partook of the delicacies they sell...).

I don't wanna head way out into the county! It's all icy and scary!

Not looking forward to doing the route tomorrow by myself, either. With Hubs AND me, between the two routes I think it took us three and a half hours this morning. If I can't get my car up the hill tomorrow, I can add at least another hour to that by myself.

Cold, with frozen smokestacks, iced over toxic waste, tall drifts of hairspray, periodic muggings, and occasional mob hits?
    Got me there.

    Evil man.

Which, let's be honest, is far, far closer than most of the people posting in this thread.

I am retiring somewhere on the equator damn it!
I am nowhere NEAR the equator. Closest we get is the Tropic of Capricorn.

People are always moving to (and out of) Key West. Perhaps this would be a good place for you? It's a tropical island that still allows you to drive to the mainland U.S. (via 41 bridges), and it has an airport, and its colded recorded temperature ever is 41F. No negative sign. Oh, and it's a place where drinking is considered a sport. Just a thought.

Jester, I really do not like you right now or for that matter you either Fireheart.

    Just kidding
Forecast for tonight ( yes it changed) a windchill warning bringing it to -40 to -50 deg Celsius.

Yes that is a minus sign and Celsius and Fahrenheit are the same at -40

    Useless without pics, you say?

This one is from last year, since it's too dark right now for good photos, but it shows what Finns can expect to deal with.

Very entertaining reading this all, as I'm sitting here after work, drinking tasteless beer and very high quality rum, in a bar with all the doors and windows open, in shorts and a short sleeve shirt, and at this time, a couple hours after sunset, weather.com reports that the current temp here is 72F.

Yes, I suck. Tell me something I am unaware of.

Well the cold is finally going to hit. Supposed to be below zero tonight, and Thursday night with windchills in the -20 range.

    Fun.
