I once had a manager try to write me up for calling in after an ice storm...when the state trooper had shut down the ONLY highway to get into Anchorage from the valley. Said I was exaggerating how bad it was, I got home (18 hours earlier when it was starting) didn't I? Yup, taking twice as long, going sideways down a bridge (almost hitting a cop in the ditch on the way) and I ONLY drove home because I was a nursing momma. My baby needed me and I needed her.
Also had a co-worker on another shift try to say having a c-section isn't that bad, and I shouldn't be out for weeks...a male coworker. The one who had had hernia surgery told me to let him know if I needed help when I came bad.
