Our work let out at 1pm today. They gave us an emergency number and said it was be tentatively opening tomorrow at 11am. My night job was cancelled tonight and tomorrow

Everyone I love is safe so far

I've got some food for a few days. Hopefully everyone will be ok.

I have a few friends in Philly that I'm worried about, and my boyfriend in south jersey.

I'm out in the Buffalo area, and everyone is all freaking out for the "Frankenstorm" part of all of this.

It took me until I started reading this thread to realize that people over-reacting is why I got stuck with crap-tastic 1% milk and in all honestly, I went because I just happened to be out of milk and eggs.

And it's not supposed to get super messed up until tonight and into tomorrow I guess.

Snow on Halloween? Yep. When I went trick or treating, we had to figure out costumes that would fit over snow suits.

Channels 9, 4, and 5 were there at Pier Village.

Wind was super strong. Hard to walk against.

Power has been flickering now off and on. I fully expect it to go off for good soon. And then I'll be trapped with my parents, aunt, and two little cousins.
I'm watching channel 7; apparently Seaside Heights has lost power.

They showed a shot in Cape May at a beach access point; the waves come up and wash over the walkway and into the parking lot, which has just the parking meters showing above the water (you can see about an inch of pole).

          This is Atlantic City http://instagram.com/p/RXoEkohmER/

They also showed a quick shot of Union Beach where my friend lives (don't know what street they were on)...I am really worried for her house (they all evacuated yesterday). It'll probably be at least a few days before they'll get back in.

And now they're showing a crane somewhere in Manhattan, at the top of a building under construction that looks like it's gonna fall off. They're closing streets around it in case it does.

My power has flickered a few times now but hasn't gone out. Yet. My parents' went out a couple times for a few minutes.

Now they're saying landfall around 6:00. Wind gusts are getting scary here.

Is it my imagination, or do the storm tracks make it look like Sally has a mad-on to hit the entire state of Pennsylvania?

                Stay safe, people.

Being in Ohio I don't expect to get much of it, but we've already had a little snow. Didn't stick to the ground though.

I'm in Arlington, just west of DC. The power here has flickered a couple of times, but is still on. We have a whole house natural gas generator, so we are prepared. Here are some web sites for following the storm:

Dominion Electric Outage Map - VA and NC

We went grocery shopping today, stocked up a bit. It was funny watching the other customers. Some of them had full carts. One couple walked out with only.....a pumpkin. Hey, priorities, right?

Hoping all my NY/NJ friends are ok.

The light has flickered a few times here, but that's it. I'm taking advantage of the unusual amount of free time and was napping most of the afternoon

Spoke to Little Bits. They are starting to get snow. She said it was very windy and there is concern about power outages on campus.

Lots of rain, and I've seen the wind picking up.

According to the latest forecast (seriously about 10 minutes ago) on NBC 4, the worst for us is going to take place over the next 12 hours, and then ease off through Tuesday.

Looks like I'll be going in to work tomorrow.
