  • Again. :(

So, it happened again. Another dead child. Only this time, she came in alive but coded quickly after arriving. I never knew that CPR on a child could be so fatiguing, but it was. We tried for over an hour to bring her back, but we not able to. Our suspicions were confirmed with a post mortem bone scan, showing old fractures. She also had a belly completely filled with blood.

Her dad was arrested today for abuse after admitting that he punched her in the head and kicked her in the stomach, multiple times. Cant help but think I hope he burns in Hell.

Im hoping next time I post will be on a happier note.

I hope they lock the f***er away for good.

Thats all I will say on him, thats all that is suitable for this board.

Hugs Amina, hopefully your next post is indeed happier, but dont let this one get you down.

The hospital staff did everything they could to help her. That's all anyone could ask.

Never fear, the 'father' will get his. If not in jail, then in Hell.

There is a special place in hell for abusers of children...and the dad in this situation certain deserves a spot there.
^This...that is all I will say that is fit for this site.

I remember when I was given x-rays after my dad tried to kill me and the nurse helping me kept having to popping in more gum cause she was gritting her teeth.

Post like these are such a roller coaster. I want to give Amina a giant hug, smother her in cute kittens and other adorable furry animals, lots of cookies and lots of alcohol.

At the same time I have this inner rage to just... *take a deep breath* Never mind.

              Amina,
I hope you never have to make a post like that again. If you do, we are here.

And "Thank you" for not giving up.

You're a saint for doing everything possible to save the little girl. I so want to say other things, but won't to keep the thread open.

Damn it, I'm at work, and my eyes are welling up.

Hugs to you, Amina, and to the little girl, wherever she's at. Your dad, the sob that he is, is in deep shit. Watch him, and see that he gets what he deserves, kiddo.

*Lots of hugs* You are a wonderful person, Amina, and I certainly hope that the sorry excuse for a bio-father gets what he deserves.

I'm with you Amina. It's hard. I've been there too.

I try to keep things in perspective: I did everything I could as a professional. You did everything you could as a professional. That's all you can do.

Oh Amina... *hugs* You did all you could to help her. As for her father, I hope his jail mates put him through as much hell as physically possible once they figure out what he did. No parent should ever do something even remotely do...

Oh hun, you did everything you could and I'm sure the angel child is so grateful for everything you guys tried.

The fact that you and everyone else in the field are able to maintain your cool and keep your priorities straight in such an emergency, just proves how much of a godsend you are to everyone you care for.

You did everything you could. The father didn't do his, but the hope I have is that the judges will do theirs. I just wish you weren't a casualty of this.
