I know the date of the Superbowl because I read Cute Overload where they post about the Puppy Bowl, which I actually care to watch. Because PUPPIES!!!!! and kittens and hamsters and hedgehog. cheerleaders. *waves pompoms*

I might go to my parents' for dinner. If I have the game on at all it'll be for the commercials. I couldn't care less about football, and I only care who wins the superbowl if the Giants are playing, because my dad hates them . Also the Steelers because if they lose my friend D at work gets cranky and I don't wanna listen to that.

Last year I was in New Zealand. Went to a casino and watched the game with a ton of random people.

This year...nothing. Might go to my dad's place to watch the game.

There are lots of ways people enjoy the Super Bowl. Obviously, some people ignore it, but as Americans, most of us watch it in one way or another. Even my mother, who really doesn't care for football, usually watches it, if for no other reason than the commercials and the half time show.

So, a quiet night at home? A Super Bowl party at a friend's? Hosting your own party? Watching at a bar? At some kind of special venue?

Myself, I will be spending my second year in a row at a lovely downtown bar, which is doing the "private party" thing, in which you purchase your seat, and all food and drink is included. The benefit of the private party at a bar is that they only sell as many seats as they have, so the place is not overflowing, and you can actually get some decent service. I was one of the first to reserve my seat at this particular bar, and am planted at the bar itself, directly in front of one of the tv's--the same seat I had last year at the same bar. I had such a great time at this bar last year, that immediately following last year's Super Bowl, I knew I would be back there again this year. The staff is great, the food is wonderful, and they have plenty of craft beers. How can I go wrong?

Also, I shall be DVRing the SB for the second straight year. Not for the game, per se, but so I can go back through and watch the commercials and the half time show, as those are often hard to hear in the bar. And honestly, I would rather miss a commercial and watch it later than miss any game action when I have to pee.
