  • Asked to do something for work...need advice

I was recently asked by my manager to create something for my job...to be used in all its stores.

I was completely happy and excited, and already began to form ideas for it...when I realized there is one small issue.

My "project" will involve using graphics...and if it was just store level I wouldn't worry too much...but since it will be chainwide...do any of you know a few sites I could get non-copyrighted images?

I don't want to cause any disgrace to my company by accidentally using something that isn't "free", and causing them to get hit with infringement lawsuits...

There's a couple of things to consider.

    1) Make your own.
    2) if you do use royalty-free sites, be sure to save any information you have on your contract/etc. just to cover your ass, especially since this is for a professional job at work.
    3) find out if the company WILL budget for images too

I think microsoft clipart is safe to use.
Interviewer: What is your greatest weakness?
Me: I expect competence from my coworkers.

dunno but... it's a bit like the basic "bumper music" sounds from Apple Garage Band. It seems cool at first, until you turn around and see it used everywhere.

iStock photo has stock images very cheap. You purchase them but the are extremely affordable.

Why don't you post here what sorts of images you need, and see what we can dig up?
