I scrapped my car in September.
I got the notice for my registration renewal today, which is due in January. This is the first time since I started driving that I've been without a car, so I don't know the next step. Can I disregard the notice? Was I supposed to send something to the DMV? The last time I scrapped my car I got a new one, so I just transferred the plates registered the new car. And we apparently did it wrong, so it had to be fixed a couple of months later after I got stopped. Oops.
The back of the card has a space to notify them that the vehicle was non-operational from this date to this date but I don't know if that applies to me. I mean, it's technically non-operational, but because it only exists as parts.
Red tape confuses me. Help?
